Tech Tip for the Week - Editing in Descript Edition
One episode can become ten pieces of content. Here is something I love about Descript. Your episode is not one piece of content. It can easily become ten. Highlight any sentence in your transcript and turn it into a clip. Just like that, you have a short, shareable piece for social, pulled straight from what you already recorded. No re-recording, no rebuilding it somewhere else. While you are editing, keep an ear out for the line that makes you go ooh, that one is good. Highlight it and make it a clip. That becomes your carousel, your reel, your promo. One episode, a whole week of content.

Thanks, I'll have to give this a try.

I am pretty sure I love trying to make a newsletter as much @Adam Schaeuble loves LinkedIn. I am trying to use Kit but being honest I really dont like it. Any suggestions on newsletter platforms or making newsletters in general.

@Vicky Arsenault thanks for the tip. Mailerlite is the platform that I've been thinking about using. I'm glad to hear that it's working for you, as I don't really ever hear too much about it.
Tech Tip for the Week - Editing in Descript Edition
Edit the words; the audio follows. In Descript, your audio becomes text. You edit the words, and the audio edits itself. Delete a sentence from the transcript, and it is gone from the audio. It works like editing a Google Doc. If you can fix a typo, you can edit a podcast. That means no learning waveforms and no scrubbing back and forth to find every filler word. This is the core of how Descript works, and everything else builds on it. Open your transcript and cut what does not belong. Best part is, it’s non-destructive… so you can always get it back if you made a mistake. CTR+Z or CMD+Z is your friend!

@Kim Parkinson well, due to lack of knowledge, I delete the words. Is the strikethrough method the better way to handle this? Are there differences in the output?

@Kim Parkinson awesome, thank you
Podcast Equipment
Hi everyone ! I am wondering if you can do me the favor and make recommendations about initial podcast equipments necessary to buy to initiate a podcast. I thank you in advance for any recommendations. 😁

@Vicky Arsenault can you use descript to increase the volume of the audio on a video that has already been recorded and not recorded directly into descript?

@Kim Parkinson that's great, thanks for letting me know. I'm going to try it.
I'm Steve, I'm new to the neighborhood
1. The name of of my podcast is: I have no name or podcast yet, but I'm thinking "Millwork Diaries" 2. How many episodes you have released so far: 0 3. Your #1 podcasting goal right now: nail down my niche idea, figure out a title, record some episodes, host and post them 4. The biggest podcasting problem you need help solving right now: I have my idea for what the podcast will be, but curious if it might have some interest to it and then figuring out a name for it. I've been listening to @Adam Schaeuble podcast for a few months, just been binging it, so glad that he has a community now to discuss ideas.

@Adam Schaeuble construction for sure, it's more general. millwork has about 2 or 3 that come up construction has much more, one of which is already called "The Construction Diaries", but hasn't posted anything new in over 2 years. I originally liked "Scope of Work", but it was taken (also dormant for a few years), and doesn't really say what the podcast would be about.

@Adam Schaeuble that's a good one, I didn't think of combining them, I was so set on the first word. That's not bad at all, thank you
