Hi
Hello all. Great to be here. Studied with Peter in '94-96 when I was at Monterey as a Marine. Did most of the workshops which gave me plenty to work on since then.....

@Robert Thompson that's great. I think "the science of enlightenment" is a great book and path for folk.
Concept versus experience
hey thanks for this space here 👍 So when I‘m looking into my experience. A lot of what I‘m aware of is merged with concept. So there is the „object“ and I‘m ascribing judgements, beliefs, thoughts etc. to it. I‘m noticing that when looking at something natural like a tree or the flow of a river it is much easier for me to take out the „concept“ part and just notice the „being“ of it. At the same time it calms me down and makes me feel more alive. When it comes to humans however there is an immense pull into the conceptual domain. Humans seem like a walking concept machine at times. I‘m the creator of concept. But where/why is this activity located? Any Suggestions? Thanks.

"objects" are usually "nouns" (that come with lots of concepts and definitions) versus "verbs" that are better experienced as activity and change. And everything is really a verb....
My Quote of the Day
Not related to my contemplation, but here’s a quote I find myself coming back to often— and I really like it: “The problem isn’t what I believe. It’s that I believe.” Anyway, that’s it. Thanks.

Aligned with the Mark Twain quote "It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so."
Unexpected Experience - 2 sessions in a day
I’ve never experienced this kind of openness before and now I realise how much more powerful this work is when done guided by people able to make clear distinction for me so I don’t fall prey to my personal beliefs and ways of thinking. Being able to experience others for the what they are aided me in accepting them for what they are, regardless of how they look, whether I like them or not and I see I am not that different from them. Sure, my mind is my mind and yours is yours, yet for what we are there’s no difference I can find. Of course we can make distinctions. I want more people to have The Consciousness Path Skool experience and I am grateful so much for this, am I’m not the grateful kind of person that expresses gratitude for the small things in life, such a instant noodles and a place to live - I think of them as mandatory, why be grateful for those? But for this opportunity to be with you here and now, man that’s something else, and I feel myself more than ever. Just imagine in 20 years, Brendan you’ve been a blessing for this community that I didn’t know you are in such a way, you play a huge role for our planet and your impact will be greater than I ever thought. Nothing compares to sitting at the feet of the master, except when I’m really hungry, need some sleep or in great need of using a toilet. It’s like dying and being reborn at once in the light of you and me. I’m open to refinement!

"I’m not the grateful kind of person that expresses gratitude for the small things in life, such a instant noodles and a place to live - I think of them as mandatory, why be grateful for those?" I suppose because not everyone has even those, and you can find alot more little things every day than big things.
New to Ralston.
Making my way through the book. Happy to find this online community. V.
