Hi - we're new and have a question
Hi team, my name is Steph and we have a beautiful little miniature groodle addition to our family, Juno (4.5 months). We're doing pretty well, she's a good learner, and I've just started watching all of your videos, spending a bit of time doing your threshold exercises yesterday. So far, loving your philosophy and methodology. We have two particular challenges with Juno at the moment: 1. When going for walks, she chews the lead incessantly, particularly before we get going. I'm uncertain on the right command to get her to stop, other than "ah". 2. She gets very nippy if she gets hyperactive. I assume this is her sign that she needs some rest. Is it ok to remove her from the situation (e.g. busy loungeroom, or hyperactive kids) and put her somewhere quiet? Was trying to balance her needing calm vs feeling like punishment.

Thanks, Lex, for your responses. In the first point, to clarify, I meant I was uncertain on how to get her to stop chewing the lead. On the second point: - she is toilet trained - I’m not putting her in her crate throughout the day, just to sleep at night. - Her crate is in our laundry, with a baby gate across the doorway of the laundry. If she gets really nippy or hyperactive, we will put her in the laundry, with the gate closed, but not specifically in her crate. - Sometimes we will also put her outside in our relatively small enclosed backyard. Sounds like I should put her literally in her crate if she is becoming over tired / stimulated? And if I understand you, focusing on place, indoors, should be our first priority?

@Sian Isaac thanks for this, Sian. This is great advice. I really appreciate it. I used the crate twice today as a calming place and this afternoon she was noticeably calmer, and happier. We’ll keep on this path and I appreciate the advice about outside for play / inside for calm.
Crate for Car Travel …
Hi wonderful Walkys Team, I just had a thought of using the Crate for Archie when we travel in the Car. Is this a thing? And how do you attach the Crate so it doesn’t move around while you are driving? @Sian Isaac does pet Circle still have the sale on their Crates? Is there a special Crate for Car Travel that I can purchase? Thank you 😀

Has anyone had any success with smaller dogs sitting in the car with seats like this? https://www.doog.com.au/products/car-seat We're able to do the boot thing most of the time, but when we travel and have a boot full of luggage, it's a different story.
