Hi everyone and welcome. I am really glad you are here. My name is Stephanie. I was adopted from Haiti at the age of one. Like many adoptees I grew up being told my adoption was a gift and a happy ending. What I did not have words for until much later was how adoption also came with loss identity questions grief and a lifelong process of healing. I created this space because adoption does not end at placement. Its impact can show up across childhood adulthood relationships parenting and self worth. This community is for adoptees adoptive parents and those considering adoption who want to understand adoption more deeply through lived experience honesty and compassion. You are welcome to introduce yourself when you are ready. There is no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable with.
