A lightweight way to structure CV PDFs
Hi all, I've been struggling with getting CV data into a clean, structured format and I know a lot of people here have been too. Recruiters send PDFs. Every CV is different. Copy-pasting is slow. Automations usually break. I spent some time working through it last week, and here’s a simple system I built in make.com that solves it for under $10/m: 1. Upload a CV in .pdf (email, form, or folder trigger). 2. Extract the raw text from the PDF. 3. Send the text to AI with a strict schema (name, email, role, skills, experience, etc). 4. Validate + clean the output. 5. Write everything into a structured Google Sheets with predefined columns. No manual formatting. No weird layouts breaking the flow. Every CV ends up normalized in the same sheet. If anything is unclear, let me know. Hope this helps you 🙏
