Stop Perching Forward!
This is perhaps the most common rider aleignment issue I see is per hing forward. How does this negatively affect the rider and horse?

@Cassie Erickson not just sitting tall (or back) but keeping the seat bones plugged in to the horse's back. As for the horse, when you lean, your seat bones come up a bit out of the saddle and to loose the connection. This can cause so many issues! As you indicated - a hollow back is one. You can't use your body to mold the horse, the horse looses bend.

Having a balanced seat that moves with the horse is so important when there are shenanigans! Keeping the upper body over the hips is also key! Have you been on a horse like this? How did you handle it?https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1KACkd1nRX/

@Shelly Smith well, you're learning a lot here that will help you when you get a horse of your own!

@Cassie Erickson yes, fight the urge to lean forward. That is a recipe for disaster.
#FrameworkFriday: Why Can't My Horse Pick Up The Correct Lead?
I see this often enough that we need to talk about it. Watch this video that shows a typical situation when the rider doesn't get the horse to pick up the correct lead. What is going on? ➡️ What can the rider do to help the horse strike off with the outside hind (the first foot fall of the 3 beat canter)? https://www.facebook.com/share/r/195D7kGmuv/

@Cassie Erickson yes! Bend comes first! ☺️
Manage the Load
If you find yourself running out of gas part way through your lesson, then perhaps you need to take an inventory of what you're doing in the day and look at it holistically. If you are strength training and doing cardio, but still can't make it through your lesson, it's probably something else that's holding you back! ➡️ Can you make it through a forty five minute lesson?Without having to make a lot of extra stops for breaks?
