🫘 Yesterday's cooking class was SO good
We cooked together live and the main ingredient was black beans. And both recipes were so unique AND delicious. In the class I talked about how I didn't grow up eating black beans regularly, so I still sometimes struggle with adding them into my diet. I have to be more intentional about it. Black beans are an amazing addition to a plant-based diet. They are packed with protein and fiber, they help keep you full, support steady energy, and great for your gut. We made a black bean dip and black bean energy bites and both were a hit. And just a little reminder: live cooking classes are a VIP perk! If you've been thinking about upgrading, this is the kind of thing waiting for you on the other side. Replay can be found HERE. What's your favorite way to use black beans? Tell me below!

What the Blue Zones all have in common 🌍
I’ve been deep in Blue Zones research the last few years and it’s honestly fascinating. These are the regions in the world where people live the longest and stay active, sharp, and independent well into their 90s and 100s. Places like Okinawa, Sardinia, Ikaria. And guess what? They're not counting macros, trying out the latest biohacking tools, chasing the latest fad or diet.. They keep it simple with a mostly plant-based diet. That's it. They eat a lot of greens, beans, whole grains, vegetables, herbs. Plants are the center of the plate, not the side note. What I love most is that it is practical. It is normal food. It is food that families cook and eat together. And did you know that in the US, only 5% of Americans eat enough fiber (aka plants)? That's troubling considering how important plants are for reducing the risk of chronic diseases that are plaguing the US. This is exactly why this community exists. Whether you’re here just getting started or you’re inside Premium or VIP getting weekly recipes, the goal is the same: consistency, simplicity, momentum. So I’m curious: What is one plant-based staple you want to be more consistent with this week? Let’s build our own modern Blue Zone, one kitchen at a time 🌿

What have you been up to this week?
I was busy working on so much business stuff today that I feel like I didn't check in properly to see how you're doing! 🫶🏼 Tonight I made some orange tofu with white basmati rice. Did you know basmati is lower on the glycemic index scale compared to other rice? Which means that it doesn't spike blood sugar as much as others. I also prepped chia pudding for the next couple days. I add Kite Hill Greek yogurt which is 17g protein per serving and is great for gut health. (You can find this recipe here: #Vanilla Berry Chia Pudding ) Let me know what you've been up to, what you're cooking, and if there's anything we can do to support you. Or just share something fun you're doing this week. ❤️

@Nadia Quraishi hmm. I’d be tempted to go with beans and some good sautéed veggies or turn it into Mexican rice
