Day 2/56 - Your First 56 Day Challenge
Day 2 is here! Today’s mission: Talk About Your Daily Routine Você pode falar sobre: ☀️ What time you wake up ☕ What you do in the morning 💼 Work or school 🍽️ What you do in the afternoon 🌙 Your evening routine 😴 What you do before going to bed 📅 What you usually do on weekends IMPORTANT: don’t forget to start your video like this 👇🏻 “Hi, I’m [your name]. And I’m giving myself 56 days to speak English more confidently. Today is Day Two, and my challenge is to talk about my daily routine.” Let’s keep going! Day 2/56 — one more day of speaking English. 🇺🇸 I’m so proud of you! Mackenzie

Day 1/56 - Your First 56 Days Challenge 🎯
Welcome to your first Fluent and Free challenge! A resposta é: sim. Trust the process. 🎥 Day 1/56: Introduce Yourself I am looking forward to getting to know you! Mackenzie

Day 13/56 Your First 56 Days Challenge 🇺🇸
Day 13. Well… we all know 13 doesn’t exactly have the best reputation. 😂 But today, 13 is bringing us a good day because we’re talking about something much more fun: 🌎 The Best Place You’ve Ever Visited I’m really excited to hear about your favorite places and, honestly, add a few more destinations to my own bucket list! Your Challenge Record a 60–90 second video talking about the best place you’ve ever visited. Make sure you start with: “Hi, my name is [your name], and I’m giving myself 56 days to speak English more confidently. Today is Day 13, and my challenge is to talk about the best place I’ve ever visited.” Then, tell us: - Where did you go? - When did you visit? - Who did you go with? - What made this place so special? - What was your favorite thing about it? - Would you go back? Why or why not? - Would you recommend it to other people? I can’t wait to watch your videos and discover some new places to visit. Day 13 starts now. Let’s go!

@Isabela Bezerra Jorge awesome! 😘😘😘
USA lost :(
Describe how you’re feeling about Team USA’s World Cup exit today in ONE word. 🇺🇸⚽ Reply in a language that isn’t your native language, and try to use a word you don’t normally use. I’ll start: bummed. 💔

The Pledge of Allegiance: Shadowing
Jerry, one of our community members, recorded this video teaching the Pledge of Allegiance, and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to introduce you to one of the most effective pronunciation techniques out there: shadowing. So, what is shadowing? Shadowing is when you listen to a native speaker and imitate them as closely as possible. You’re not just repeating the words. You’re copying their pronunciation, rhythm, intonation, connected speech, and even the way they pause and emphasize certain words. Here’s how I’d like you to do this challenge: 1. Watch Jerry’s video once all the way through. 2. Then watch it again, pausing after each sentence. 3. Repeat exactly what he says, trying to imitate his pronunciation, rhythm, and intonation as closely as possible. 4. Once you feel more comfortable, try saying longer sections without pausing or even the entire video from memory! I’ve also included the transcript below to make the exercise easier. Feel free to read along at first, but little by little, challenge yourself to rely less on the text and more on your listening. When you’re done, come back and let me know in the comments: - Was it easier or harder than you expected? - Which sentence was the most challenging? - Did you notice any sounds or words that were difficult to imitate? I can’t wait to hear how it goes. Happy shadowing! 🇺🇸🎧
