Week 4: The "Spring Awakening" Light-Viewing Flow 🌅🌱
Happy Monday! We have reached the final week of February. 🏁 This week is all about the Spring Awakening. After months of short days and artificial indoor light, our hormones can get "out of sync," leading to that late-winter sluggishness. Today, we are going to fix that by combining a morning movement flow with Natural Light Viewing. Your eyes are actually an extension of your brain. When they see early morning light, they signal your "Master Clock" to start burning fat, boosting mood, and setting your sleep timer for tonight. ⚡ The 10-Minute "Awakening" Sequence: 0–5 Mins: The Outdoor "Photon" Flow - The Rule: You MUST do this outside (or by an open window—no glass!). Even if it's cloudy, there are 10x more photons outside than in your brightest room. - The Move: Walk at a brisk pace while swinging your arms wide. Do not wear sunglasses! Let that natural light hit your retinas (but never stare directly at the sun). - Why: This triggers a morning $Cortisol$ spike that makes you alert and tells your body to stop storing "winter fat." 5–8 Mins: The "Sun-Salute" Reaches - Stand tall. Inhale as you reach your arms as high as possible, slightly leaning back to open your chest and throat. Exhale as you touch your toes. - Do 15 reps, focusing on the feeling of the air on your skin. - Why: This opens up the "front" of the body which has been hunched over screens all winter. 8–10 Mins: The "Spring Vision" Meditation - Stand still in the light. Close your eyes and visualize one "seed" of a goal you want to grow in March. - Take 5 deep breaths, imagining that morning light is feeding that goal like a plant. 👇 MONDAY CHECK-IN: Let’s catch the light! 1. Comment "AWAKE" once you’ve completed your 10-minute outdoor flow! 2. Tell us: How many minutes of natural light did you get this morning? (Even 2 minutes counts!) Just woke up and welp I’m Snowed in !! My front door pov in pic and it’s crazy snow outside I’ll try this tomorrow morning.I’m in the Boston ma area anybody else got hit with this storm I hope you got the eggs , bread and milk lol this one hit big !! We are in the middle of Week 3: Immunity & Vitality. Today, we’re talking about a special class of herbs and fungi called Adaptogens. Think of an adaptogen like a "Thermostat" for your biology. If your stress levels (and $Cortisol$) are too high, they bring them down. If your energy is too low, they lift it up. They help your body "adapt" to the environment so your immune system doesn't have to do all the heavy lifting alone. 🌿 1. Ashwagandha (The Physical Protector) In Sanskrit, Ashwagandha means "Smell of a Stallion," referring to the strength and vitality it gives the user. - The Benefit: It is world-renowned for lowering $Cortisol$ (the stress hormone). When $Cortisol$ is high, your immune system is "suppressed." By lowering stress, Ashwagandha lets your natural defenses come back online. - Best For: Those who feel "wired but tired" or have high physical demands. 🍄 2. Reishi (The "Mushroom of Immortality") In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Reishi is known as the "Supreme Protector." - The Benefit: It contains complex sugars called Beta-glucans that act like "training drills" for your white blood cells. It makes your immune system smarter and faster at recognizing threats. - Best For: Long-term immune support and calming a racing mind before bed. ☕ The "Vitality Latte" Recipe: This is my favorite way to stack these two together for a powerful afternoon reset. 1. 1 cup warm organic coconut or almond milk. 2. 1/2 tsp Ashwagandha powder. 3. 1/2 tsp Reishi mushroom extract (powder). 4. 1/2 tsp Ceylon Cinnamon. 5. A tiny touch of raw honey (optional). The Ritual: Stir well and sip slowly.
