Inspiration of the Week: Calm Luxury
Calm luxury comes from simplicity, softness, and intention. It’s not about expensive materials — it’s about choosing what feels aligned. What colours or textures are inspiring you this week?

@Payal Darji me too. Feels more welcoming
I created something for you 🤍
I want to share something I’ve been working on. I’ve just released my first short course: How to Think Before You Design It’s not about trends, styles, or decoration. It’s about learning how to think before design begins, so decisions feel calm, structured, and aligned instead of overwhelming. This framework comes directly from my real project work and from patterns I’ve seen with clients over the years. If you’re renovating, furnishing, or planning changes to your home (or future home), this will help you slow down and approach decisions with clarity. Here’s the link: https://sofiyadesigns.gumroad.com/l/kxlrcz As always, happy to answer questions inside the group 🤍

@Payal Darji thank you xx
Let’s slow it down for a moment
I’d love to understand who is here and what you’re currently navigating. Tell me in the comments:• Are you a student, designer, or design lover?• What’s one thing you’re currently struggling with in interiors or design decisions? No pressure to be polished. Simple and honest is perfect. 🤍

I’m a practising interior designer and educator. Lately I see many people struggling with trusting their first design instinct... so I’m excited to explore that together here.

@Payal Darji this is such a normal stage, Payal! Perfection can actually block creativity. Instead of asking “what colour should I choose?”, start with “how do I want the space to feel?” The feeling will guide the colour. It's a normal learning process, you are not stuck :)
Let's get to know each other
I’d love to get to know who’s here. Please introduce yourself in the comments:– Are you a student, designer, or design lover?– Where are you based?– What drew you to soulful / intuitive interiors? There’s no right or wrong answer — just share what feels true for you :)

Quick question
When you design a room, what do you usually start with first? A) Colours B) Furniture C) Pinterest / inspiration D) No idea — I feel stuck (Reply with A, B, C, or D)

@Payal Darji That's a great starting point! A small tip: once you’ve gathered inspiration, try to notice what repeats (colours, moods, textures, shapes). That repetition becomes your direction, instead of copying a single image.
