Jobs ?!
So this year I’ll be starting my college in India , and after 4 years I am gonna do 2 years of masters in one of the Ivy Leagues … Something that I really want is to work with FAANG : Facebook , apple , Amazon , Netflix , google Or be a data scientist who’s financially stable , works and travels around the world . But the road to that is pretty unclear rn. Cause due to some situation in family I maybe not be able to go to an IIT( reputed college for engineering in India ) and may end up in a normal college in my city itself. Where I’ll pursue btech in some computer related degree . But my sister as I talked to her yesterday, said that I wouldn’t be able to get a great job if I end up in a normal college ?? Any opinions on that how can I still be able to achieve all that , from a normal college any help would be great …

@Ivy Wizard even before as well as now I think your answer did give me a very clear sense of direction. Yes it was helpful and really simple for me to understand . It’s that’s sometimes we just complex things in our head , even when it’s all simple , so this cleared the confusion. Thank you so much for your time and this helped a lot ✨

Extracurricular activities ??
Unlike Indian colleges(IIT) who mostly take a candidate based on their test scores only, ivy leagues and other colleges that I want to apply to , critiques a student by their overall skills. My question is : (If assuming I did no extra curricular in the past ) - What skills should I work on - Activities which will make my admission more likely - Any specific events or things I should participate in I still have 3-4 years to develop and work on them as I’ll be spending my 4 years at IIT hopefully

@Ivy Wizard absolutely !! really helped a lot 😊 Especially you putting it in points gave me a sense of direction on what steps I should take going ahead. I was a bit confused if I’d had to do something other than my field but it’s great to know that I just have to master what I’ll be doing confused about research but I guess I’ll know with time . hey there ! I am Sneha from India , currently in the final state of my entrance exam ( JEE ) I’ll be going to college at IIT ( hopefully) I am aiming to get into an Ivy League university in 2028-2029 for my masters in my desired field .
