This week’s tip: 🔍 Check your risk register today. Not next week. Not before the next inspection. Today. Ask yourself three questions: 1️⃣ When was it last reviewed? If the answer is more than 30 days ago, it is out of date. 2️⃣ Does it reflect the reality of your service right now? New staff, new clients, new pressures, new risks — are they on it? 3️⃣ Are the actions against each risk being actioned? A risk register with no movement is not governance. It is a document. Here is why this matters right now — Under the new KLOEs, Well-Led evidence is more important than ever. CQC inspectors will ask how you know your service is safe. Your risk register is one of the first things that will tell them. A live, current, actively managed risk register is not just compliance. It is leadership.
