Owning Your Output in the AI Era
AI tools are now part of the production chain. Understanding their impact on your copyright and royalties is not optional. It is fundamental to getting paid. The integration of AI into music production introduces a new layer of complexity to publishing and rights management. Traditional definitions of authorship are being tested. For the independent creator, navigating this landscape with clarity is critical for building a sustainable business. The fundamental question is one of authorship. Current guidance from the U.S. Copyright Office is clear: work generated entirely by a non-human author cannot be copyrighted. If you use an AI to generate a core melodic hook or a foundational lyric, that component of your song may exist in a legal gray area, or worse, the public domain. @Timi Hawea thanks I’m thinking about releasing it as a song for me.
AOL/Gettaway
Sometimes the hardest person to get away from is the version of yourself that keeps revisiting what should’ve been left behind. “AOL (Absence of Life) / Get Away” is about that space between letting go and holding on. The late-night thoughts. The unanswered calls. The memories that still know your address. If you’ve ever had to walk away from someone while part of you wanted to stay, this one is for you. What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever had to get away from? Join The Community 👇🏾 https://eyewillhq.com/frequency-pass

Yikes that I didn’t know. AOL was a mega company for a long time for sure.

100% A Capella Prompting - anyone know how?
I'm trying to get one of my singers to sing a gospel song a capella -- no accompaniment, no harmony, etc. No matter how strongly I prompt it, SUNO ignores it and decides to do it's own thing. I also tried editing the stems, but the lead vocal and backup vocals often blend into a single track.
@Sherm Stevens niceeee that’s real production work right there.
@Sherm Stevens that would be very helpful. Layers make a huge difference when it comes to production.
