In 2025, there were more than 13,800 artists who generated at least $100,000* a year from Spotify alone — nearly 1,400 more than the previous year. In fact, there are now more artists generating over $100K annually from Spotify than there were generating half that amount just five years ago. This isn’t just about growth — it’s momentum, and it’s coming from all over the world: - More than one in three artists at the $100K level today have increased their royalties tenfold in under a decade. - Eight in ten artists who crossed the $100K threshold in 2022 have remained above it every year since. - A majority of the new $100K artists debuted in the 2020s, and 85% are based outside the U.S. The modern music economy is creating more career artists, in more countries, faster than ever before. *These artists likely generated roughly 3x this amount including all streaming services, and even more across all recorded revenue sources.
