I hope everyone is having a very Merry holiday break! I’m out of action spending quality time with the family but I’ll be back Dec 29th in the Studio! When these news broke out it wasn’t really much of a surprise to me, I kind of expected this since JM talked about dropping a plugin soon, he just never said it was with Neural but I think it was kinda obvious. I feel like people think that by buying this plugin they will sound just like JM which I think is a total misconception about plugins and these type of digital products. Still, I’m very excited to try it out once I get the chance to even though it’s quite expensive. But I do think that it’s worth the price 100%.

I´ve been missing these posts for the past few days but the reality is that this week has been exams week so I havent had much time to post around here. Today Im composing a Blues and have to practice more solfege. I know this isnt related to music but Ive been searching jobs also because I need some income ASAP.

Today I heard, for the first time, the song ‘Hotel Bathroom song’ by John Mayer which is an unreleased gem and it immediately made me want to write a song similar to it. I want to know, where is the line drawn in intellectual property in music because I know that my progression is pretty much the same as his and the way I play it basically too. I did change some things like the tonality and some melodies in the guitar. I haven't started writing any lyrics yet but I feel like if I change the melody and write my own lyrics it would be a new song. I just don’t know up until which point you can get away with inspiration and when does it turn into straight up stealing or copying.

There is this band from Peru which I really like that also has a song that kind of reminds me of this vibe.
