How I tweaked my decision making process and it made me $250k
About 6 years ago I was a young leader in the Army and in charge of about 35 soldiers. I had very little oversight and lead by the seat of my pants. I would talk to several SMEs about each mission we needed to complete, and then made a decision. Pro, no lack of indecision. Con, lack of thought made me make stupid mistakes. FIX IT PLAN: I ask myself, what is the one thing that will move the needle the most? Okay, now go do that. I switched industries 2 years ago and learned how to sell in about 6 months, then I figured my skillset was better used under a better pay plan. So I found a new company to work for, then I started selecting bigger and bigger jobs and weeding out the smaller ones. My income went from 100k/yr to 60k/yr and now is much higher than 100k/yr simple because I was willing to move as needed. BLUF do what is obviously the thing you need to do to move the needle.
