Process was done from start to finish in 90 minutes, and it would’ve been done way faster if I didn’t ask so many damn questions. 😅 DJ walked me through step by step and guided me in a way that can set my family trust up in the most beneficial way for my family’s particular situation. Keep in mind, I don’t come from money and my family much less, so putting all this proper business and law stuff into practice is completely new to me. He not only explained it in the most basic terms, but actually explained the differences between setting things up one way vs another in a very straightforward way. My family was working with a lawyer before to structure this trust and not only was it taking months to finish, but this lawyer really did not give us any advice about how structuring the trust this way means _______ while structuring it that way can mean _______. This was AFTER paying him thousands of dollars for that and other services. I was days away from setting up a revocable trust under my mother’s name and social security number, which would have been DISASTROUS in terms of asset protection and taxation purposes. But not a peep about that was mentioned by this lawyer until a specifically asked him about this, and the answer was vague and not really tailored to my situation. And when I asked him about how taxation would work, he said he’s not a tax lawyer 🤷🏽‍♂️ DJ sent me a link by 4pm. By 5:30, I already had a tracking number for my family trust being mailed to me. Again, I was the one making it take that long; I’m sure it would’ve been done way sooner. Nonetheless, I appreciate his willingness to answer my questions and share what he knows with me while applying it to my family’s current situation. I walked away from the experience feeling so much more at ease and assured that I was taking the correct BIG STEP into securing my family’s financial future. I feel very privileged in working with DJ as a mentee and look forward to learning and expanding more through this journey in the proper, most constructive way I can.
