Campfire Court — Lightning is 5 Miles Out🔥
You're at camp. Sun's setting. You see lightning flashing across the valley — about 5 miles out and moving toward you fast. A) Break camp now and hike out B) Stay put, hunker down, ride it out C) Move camp to lower ground but stay put A, B, or C — one reason. 👇

I recall a fishing trip with my Papa and it was a few months after he had a stroke so of course he only had strength in one arm. We were using cane poles fishing in the helicopter hole. Something bit his hook and I remember him laughing and yelling, he said. “ I don’t know what this is, but come get it off!!! I ran over and he had a huge alligator snapping turtle on his cane pole. Best fishing trip ever
CWS Update — Still on pace for June 1 🔥
Quick update for everyone waiting on Camping Wilderness Skills — We’re still locked in for the June 1 launch and I wanted to show you what we’re building toward. Here are the full app mockups — every screen, exactly what you’ll have in your hands on launch day. This thing is going to be the only app that does what AllTrails, Gaia GPS, OnX, and every other outdoor app does separately — all in one place, with a course library and AI Coach none of them have. Live satellite GPS with your route traced in real time. USGS gauge data for your river. Full weather panel for your exact put-in location. Trip plan document generator. Offline maps. Emergency SOS. All of it. Founders spots are still available — first 100 members lock in $5/month for life. That window closes June 1. Where the map ends, the wild begins. 🛶⛺

I really like this, because a lot of people don’t know which apps are reliable.
Beat the Heat
As temperatures rise and humidity gets worse, please be sure to stay hydrated while hiking or camping. Always have a back up plan and an organized schedule just in case something goes wrong. If you have a planned out schedule and something happens, like you miss a check in, then someone will know where you should be and where you were last. Also watch out for out slithery friends on the ground. Stay Rugged!!!
They Called Them Fog Wraiths [OKEFENOKEE]
Old Okefenokee folks didn't go out at night. They warned about ghosts, witches, "St. Elmo's Fire," "Will-o-the-Wisps," and "Fog Wraiths" — strange lights and shapes that drifted through the cypress. Modern science calls it swamp gas. The old-timers knew better than to test it either way. Ever seen something out there at night you couldn't quite explain? 👇

Do people still claim to see these Fog Wraiths? My son and I want to start investigating Okefenokee Urban Legends.

I am 40 years old, from St.George Ga. I enjoy building things with my hands. My son and I are learning more Bushcraft ideas together. I enjoy hiking.
