The diya (lamp) and the bati (wick) together symbolize the union of matter and spirit. The diya, made of clay, represents the physical body—earthly, grounded, and finite. The bati, when lit, represents the soul—radiant, eternal, and guiding. Alone, the diya is incomplete; without the bati, it cannot shine. Similarly, the bati without the diya has no foundation to hold its flame. This relationship mirrors spirituality—the body and soul must unite in harmony to radiate light. Just as the diya and bati together dispel darkness, a balanced life of material grounding and spiritual awareness illuminates the path of truth.
