Your Mix Versus The Algorithm
A skip is a vote against your song. On streaming platforms, poor sonic quality—a mix that is too loud, too quiet, or too flat—is a primary driver of skips. This is how your master impacts your growth. Streaming growth is a game of audience retention. The algorithms that drive discovery on platforms are designed to promote songs that listeners engage with. Conversely, they penalize songs that listeners skip. Your mix and master quality is a direct factor in this equation. Consider the playlist experience. A listener flows from one song to the next, expecting a consistent sonic environment. If your track is jarringly louder or noticeably quieter than the preceding one, it breaks the spell. This sensory disruption often prompts an immediate skip, even if the song itself is good. @Sir William Alexander Are you creating your masters manually? or do you use AI mixing/mastering software? I use Automix desktop and it does a solid job of creating Masters for streaming services, or "Optimized" masters (slightly louder).
The OLYMPVS Experiment LIVE in Spotify…
Just published my first album on SPOTIFY: “America CCL: Celebrating Our Nation’s 250th” Piggybacking on the popularity of all the Freedom250 stuff going on. I staged a virtual concert at Pierhead Island, a fictional venue in Cleveland on the shores of Lake Erie. 4 “live” songs - rest of the album is studio tracks. Give a listen. Follow if you like it. Share feedback too- would love to hear. https://open.spotify.com/album/37bueEkX4Dy5AR8NVUp2Xq?si=TX7G20c0RDeonnHyTw8Zyw

@Piano M That's EXACTLY what it's supposed to do -- stab you in the heart! Wait'll you see the video I'm working on. It's going to be like a cinematic short film.

@Piano M It's all done with [BRACKETED. LYRIC PROMPTS] in ChatGPT, along with very detailed STYLE PROMPTS and EXCLUDE PROMPTS. After awhile, ChatGPT is almost like a writing partner. We bounce ideas back and forth, I give it direction, then when I'm satisfied, I request the 3 copy and paste prompts from ChatCPT. After so many songs, ChatGPT anticipates what I'm trying to achieve with a song. It's pretty incredible.
Your Catalog as a Business
Serious artists do not just write songs; they build a catalog. This catalog of intellectual property is the central asset of their business. Proper registration is the act of securing and legitimizing that asset, turning your art into enterprise value. Shift your mindset. You are not simply a musician. You are the CEO of a small enterprise, and your catalog of songs is your primary asset class. Every other activity—touring, merchandise, content—revolves around the value inherent in this intellectual property. From this perspective, song registration takes on a new weight. It is not administrative busywork. It is the equivalent of securing the deed to a property or the patent for an invention. It is the legal and administrative process of making your asset official, trackable, and defensible. Join the community 👇🏾 https://eyewillhq.com/talk/your-catalog-as-a-business-asset

@Sir William Alexander I've created more than 70 songs for my group, The OLYMPVS Experiment, and producing new ones almost every day. I'll be releasing albums steadily through the rest of the year and beyond. I'll also promote thru socials, create AI performance and lyric videos, and I have a dramedy/mockumentary style webisodes planned for their world. Thanks to SUNO and other AI software, I get to produce fun, creative content again. It's been awhile. It feels great to create just for the fun of it, with an eye toward monetization (since I am a Capitalist Pig, after all).

@Sir William Alexander Actually, the whole thing started by accident. I have an AI Voice and Conversational AI service for contractors, and I was looking for a unique way to promote it. I discovered SUNO, wrong a song, then created this entire world from a spark. The webisodes are all mixed with the music. It should be epic.
