🌊 (Creekside Coffee/Q&A)??
Hey everyone 👋 I’ve been working on setting up a regular live Q&A for the community, but I want to build this with you, not just throw something together.🎤 I was originally thinking of calling it a “digital campfire,” but I want something that really fits our vibe — prospecting, being out in the field, learning, sharing finds, and just real talk.📸 (Creekside Coffee/Q&A) 🔥 Live from the field So I’d love your input: 👉 What would you call our live sessions? Something that feels like us — digging, discovery, paydirt, the outdoors, all of it. Also— I know times are different around the world🌎 But we can make something work👍 👉 What times work best for you? Would you be into: - Morning coffee chats ☕ - Evening wind-down talks 🌙 - Weekend sessions out in the field? I’m open to ideas. Could be Q&A, storytelling, showing finds, teaching, or just hanging out and talking shop or all of the above. I’ll be honest—I’m new to doing live video like this. But I’m fired up and inspired to build something real here with you all. Appreciate every one of you. Let’s make this something awesome together 🙌

💎Hey everyone! It's mineral Monday 🌟
A friend just gave me this cool rock from the Yukon to cut and polish. I was totally wowed when I saw it — look at those beautiful dark streaks mixed with the bright yellowish-green! At first, I thought the host rock was some kind of basalt, the host rock. But after checking it out, it seems more like serpentinite (a rock made mostly of serpentine minerals). It has that classic waxy look and those pretty green bands that come from natural alteration processes deep in the earth.🌎 Yukon has some amazing geology, including old volcanic and metamorphic rocks like this. Has anyone here worked with serpentinite or greenstone before? What do you think it is? I’ll share some before-and-after pics once I cut and polish it.🏞 Can’t wait to see how the colours pop!✅️ Serpentinite rock can naturally contain, or be the host rock for, fibrous minerals, specifically chrysotile asbestos, which is a significant health hazard when airborne.❎️ So be sure to wear your proper protection when cutting. ✅️ What’s the coolest rock you’ve ever cut or found? Drop your photos or stories below! 👇 #RockHounding #Lap lapidary #YukonRocks #BeginnerRockID

First rockhounding of 2026
First time out of the year for myself and my fiancee ! We spent the day prospecting a newly acquired claim. We searched , hiked, explored and ofcourse did some hounding ! Found lots of small, but mighty pink garnets. Almost facet grade im sure of it. Some darker, almost black garnets. Some beautiful samples of mica and a mystery rock.... lol. All in all it was a beautiful day, and it felt lovely to be out exploring again !!

Wow, Chris, this looks like a fun day. Nice and sunny day out. Thanks for showing your outdoor adventures. Looks like you got some cool things for the day. Love the blue colour in that stone, which looks like a barrel or a low-quality aquamarine or agate/chalcedony👍👍
🌞On the hunt 2026🌞
It’s been a busy day connecting with people and scouting out a new location for our 2026 field dig days. Just wanted to check in and see how everyone’s doing today. It’s nice and sunny where I am—I hope your day is filled with sunshine too 🌞

@Marta Nagyova yeah just a chill Sunday as well for me.
⛏️20 New friends thank you all.👍
We just hit 20 people in the community… and honestly, that means a lot to me.🧘‍♀️🧘 It might not seem like a huge number to some, but to me it’s 20 real people who chose to be here, learn, share, and grow together.📗 I’m really grateful for every single one of you. This isn’t just a group—it’s starting to feel like a solid crew of like-minded people who love the outdoors, prospecting, and just getting out there and doing it.🌲 As we hit this milestone, I want you all to know I’m working behind the scenes on a new field classroom and setting up some workshop days so we can take things to the next level together. Thanks for being here, seriously. This is just the beginning.🙏
⛏️20 New friends thank you all.👍
