I have listening to a lot of personal brand over the past few months and what makes a powerful personal brand vs one that people says inspires them but they don't convert to sales. The most brutal lesson was that a hot mess express brand, attracts hot mess express people which can be super stressful, energy vampires to deal with. There is a difference between having a "relateable" personal brand that actually loses us authority vs a related power brand that grows authority. It really has me thinking. A power brand comes from a place of growth...I had this problem, this is how it felt and this is how I solved it. They show a transformation. It has strong, consistent visuals that stop the scroll. It uses stories that are relateable, but are told from a power and role model perspective, rather than the hot mess express perspective. The content is leadership and transformation focused. The person is still relateable and vulnerable, but with an authority filter. Would my role model, highest self post this? The power brand uses consistent colours, consistent font types, it has quality photos and videos, they are recognisable and high quality. They don't post more if quality and the message suffers as a result. Does your brand create a feeling of safety, certainty and confidence? It is us on our best day and the best version of us, not constantly in the midst of the chaos. Ask yourself today...does my content reflect the best version of me, my role model self from even 3 months in the future or could I be losing trust because I look like a hot mess express. Do I have a consistent look, color or font? Do my photos and videos look like the authority I want to be? This has me thinking this weekend as well about what tweaks do I want to make to my own personal brand.
