Is the “Hey, you good-nudge?” You can move the lunch date. You can reschedule dinner. You can push the happy hour to next week. But when that nudge comes telling you to stop and call that person, do not put that one off. There is a difference between checking in and really checking in. A quick "hey, you good?" followed by two seconds of silence is not a check-in. That is a greeting wearing a check-in costume. A real check-in costs you something. It costs you your full attention, your time, and your willingness to stay on the line long enough to hear what they are not saying. We have all rushed through one and missed it. They said "I am okay" and something in us already knew that was not the whole truth. But we were moving too fast. We had somewhere to be. And discernment was right there whispering, ask them again. Say it a different way. Do not hang up yet. That nudge is not random. When a name drops into your spirit out of nowhere, when something pulls you toward a person and you cannot explain why, that is not a coincidence. Go make the call.
