Is this a good hook for an opening of a story?
"Most kids grow up having a reason to go home when they're older but I'd bet their reason wouldn't be to kill their mom." Honesltly, I loved my mom and dad (both passed now) but this just came to me one day out of the blue as a hook. I wasn't even working on anything at the time. It just popped in. I'm not crazy, I promise. Please let me know if it is too harsh, too vague, too silly, too whatever... Also, if you are having trouble with you opening hook, let me know. I will help you brainstorm it free of charge.

@Zane Dowling I mostly struggle because what lights my brain up is the worldbuilding and developing ideas, not the actual writing lol

@Zane Dowling this is totally what I am looking for but more like a collaboration than me paying someone to write it for me. I've had a ghostwriter write a book for me once. She did a decent job, but that was before I made this app. So, now I think my briefing would be better and the results would turn out better. lol, I made that a feature of my app, just because, if I do have some money, I would definitely consider it. And, I'd be able to share the full bible and all the story elements, arcs, chapters, even scenes, game/magic systems, and any languages that I created, and the person would be able to write inside the writing function of the app. And the app would kind of guide them when it comes to my voice because I have written stuff before, short stories and such. I just have never finished a book. So, yeah, if I can't find a collaborator, I would try this at least once. And no, I didn't know the original script for Star Wars was written by a ghostwriter. Is that common knowledge? I figured most books ghostwritten don't truly give credit or what not to the writer...
What do you think makes the best Villain?
So does the best villain of a story have to actually kill someone or just be nasty rude to everyone. Who do you love to hate? Who is your favorite ficticious villian, and have they killed someone? Mine? Oh, I don't know, Maybe Darth Vader but he is not in a book. Which reminds me, if your Villian is from a book and not a mainstream movie, please give the book title and the Author, so we can have a chance to hate them, too. Come on share the hate.

@Jason Strickland honestly, I believe all villains think that because we do. It's natural to look at life through your own lens and perspective and everyone has a unique one because our life experiences plus how we responded and all of that is like a fingerprint, you won't find any two alike. It's just up to the author to bring that to life.

The best villain, to me, is someone who is real. Someone who experienced so much harm and suffering that it made them not want others to experience that or certain people they love. I think a villain is a person who is completely lost in their own personal reality that they judge everything from what helps or harms themselves or the ones they love. And it's extreme. Like they can't hold anyone else in that. Everyone else might as well be an ant because they are no longer human. There are no mothers and children or elderly. Just collateral damage. But, I do love a villain who has a line they won't cross like they don't kill babies. It's almost like they could have been the hero if they had made a different decision somewhere along the way. I feel like that makes them redeemable. And that's a great quality for a villain to have. He's the person you root for even though he is a villain. Can't think of any at the top of my head though, but Darth Vader is almost a great example. I wouldn't say him just because he became someone's henchman. A true villain bows to no one
