What’s your current job?

As you can see from my profile pic, I work in a warehouse for Pepsi. We work 4 10s, and build pallets and load trucks. Sometimes we have spills (see photo) this one was from Saturday. I like to take pics all year and put the best ones on a Christmas card and give them to my coworkers. Job satisfaction - 3/10

I love that you take pics to use for coworker Christmas cards especially when you have work moments like that 😂. I am currently an FME monitor/lead. Before I went into nuclear, my background was actually in teaching, specifically kindergarten age children.

Fall opportunities

If you haven't been badged or are looking to try something different, Trident Power Support Services are hiring FME (foreign material exclusion) monitors for the fall season. (You can find the details on their Facebook page). They do hire new to nuke and/or no experience, so it can be a great way to get your foot in the door. Please let me know if you have any questions. I worked the spring season for them and got to work on the refuel floor which was super cool.

@Trent Almeida yes it is outage work usually. Many plants have contracts with them, many of which I've seen posted about here too (Duke plants, Southern Nuclear plants etc). :) It's a great way to get into the industry and you'll have plenty of opportunities to connect and network with the RPs and Deconners as well, depending on what project you do. They posted the link to apply on their Facebook page - Trident Power Support Services (they have a purple trident logo).
