While watching a video about mixing, I had an idea. Since this involves reverse engineering, the approximate mixing algorithm might be as follows: 1.busses 2.delay+reverb to taste 3.Vocal dynamics 4.Dynamics in the mix 5. Frequencies 6. After all changes The volume. Have you got any ideas about this ?

when the instructor selects all the tracks and normalizes them so none of them could go over -10db. he says "watch the track waves shrink or grow." I understand why they would shrink but have a hard time understanding why they would grow.

Hi,👋 they might increase because the level of some tracks is significantly lower than -10 dB.

@Fernando Vasquez Gain normalization is an automatic function that adjusts your audio level to a specific target value you have set. If the peak level is below -10 dB, the audio is amplified until the peak reaches -10 dB; conversely, if it exceeds that level, it is reduced. If your audio is already at -10 dB, normalization will do nothing.
