Cueing a push command
From this morning’s food session - i started cueing a push command. Initially as I was doing other stuff (recall from food etc) the bowl was quite far away so I decided to bring it closer and reduce the amount of things that could go “wrong” 😅 So I start with some commands he’s familiar with (sit, heel, watch) then grab hold of his collar and say “push” - the first couple of attempts I really need to encourage him, but then he seems to get the hang of it (and enjoys it too, I bet). Will show progression as we move forward but any feedback as always very appreciated

@Alex Lato one question though - could this create anxiety around food in some dogs? T does not resource guard with me as I always strived to have positive associations around food and my presence, but he has on occasions with my female as she is a bitch and has in the past tried to steal food from him when he was little (my bad, I know) so I wouldn’t want him to maybe escalate?
Light obedience around food
@Alex Lato so this is some of the obedience we do around food, ie recalling away from food when stationary, recalling away from food after been released to it, positioning facing away from food (this is the toughest to date for him). Not our sleekest session but still you can see some of our exercises and hopefully provide me with some pointers for improvement :)

@Alex Lato yes, cannot wait! I’ve worked a lot on impulse control with him as he is a dog that needs movement and thinks boundaries should not exist 😂 so the more impulse control games I have in our arsenal, the better :)
Box feeding session Tokaji
So tonight I did some box feeding session with both pups to play around with pushing and confidence building. On one occasion I took the box away as Tokaji poked his head out, But on all other occasions I realised too late!! 😂 he is too quick for me 🤦🏻‍♀️ Anyway, his response to pressure is much better when the box is involved as we used to do this quite often about a year ago so he knows how to win the game (my head needs to stay inside the box and I get paid) so I think it shouldn’t take a lot of effort to replicate this concept in his head with a “push”’cue for food (this relates to my previous video) 🙏🏼
