🍣 Episode 4: Maki Rolls Is Now Live!
Episode 4 is now available in Course 2: Making Sushi. In this episode, we'll start putting everything we've learned so far into practice by making sushi rolls. You'll learn the fundamentals of both Hoso Maki and Ura Maki, including rice distribution, filling quantity, rolling technique, cutting, and presentation. We'll make a variety of rolls together, and by the end of this episode you should have a much better understanding of how to build consistent, well-balanced sushi rolls. Remember, don't focus on perfection. Focus on repetition and consistency. Every roll you make is another step forward. 📸 Homework:Once you've completed the episode, please upload photos of your rolls and share any challenges or questions you have. Sorry for the lack of photos for the ingredients such as preparing the avocado, cucumber and the chilli mayo. I attempted making the sushi rice but added too much rice vinegar in the process which made it way too sticky making it harder to spread and roll. I thought the size of the avocados used couldve been more consistent and make smaller as I found it difficult to roll them with equal proportions of fillings. It definitely felt much harder to prepare everything at home compared to making it at the restaurant and will try keep adding updates to any new attempts of preparing ingredients and making maki rolls.
