I let my sister write this post.... 🤪 (Bad idea?)
I have been spending some family time lately and my younger sister knows all about Skool and while I was in the kitchen she sat on my computer and made this post.... It was too cute to delete so I had to post it💖 She will be reading the answers :) Who likes what food?? 🍫🍦🍕🎂

Why you’re always forgetting words……(The hack to remember them)
After researching neuroscience for a couple years I can now confidently tell you that most people learn languages and words wrong and actually pretty much everything wrong I know your probably thinking Kai… Are you serious? Yeah! let me tell you a story . There was a study, they took 2 classes A and B and they both had to take an exam Group A read and read the material but Group B read it once but tested it over and over again In the end Group B performed with amazing results And that is because.... Fluency illusions trick us into believing we’ve mastered material when we’ve merely become familiar with it Just because you recognise something doesn't mean you can recall it when needed, that why textbooks make perfect sense until you close them So the solution for this is to test your skills in real world situations. Find someone to talk to, talk to yourself, Join the weekly calls, or Wait because I am launching something amazing in the next couple weeks :) And test your knowledge daily Give me your takeaway and what action you will take 😉❤️

I try to talk with A.I. in Spanish. I use Gemini. On Monday this week I had a repetitive task to do for about an hour, so I had Spanish cartoons playing in the background. I wasn't paying attention to it but just wanting immerse myself a little.

@Kai Cerar I have to dictate clearly about speed and regularly ask to explain. It's not perfect but fun if I get a short window of time
This community did something amazing....
I usually don't check my stats as a community owner and my goal is to just make this place fun, valuable and interesting But I just checked my stats for discovery (Suuper important metric) And Its at #57!!! THATS INSANEE When i first started out we were at like #1,000.... There were a couple things that I did: First of all I kicked out like 30 inactive members and bots and scammers :) Thanks @Ben Sherry for the inspiration. And second of all I launched the suuuper fun simple 5 day language learning challenge I have a massive project launching soon in this community soo just wait..... Also if we get in the top 30 in discovery then this community will get a Star status which is sooo cool!! Make a post sharing some of your wins

I'm learning Spanish so that I can put a fish in a tank to see if it can drive it or fire the guns. ¡Increíble! But not as incredible as the scarecrow racing a snowman in beach buggies in Granada!!
How to make vocabulary stick (Science backed principles)
There was a study done where they took 2 groups of students: Group A, and Group B The goal of the study to see which students would perform better based on their learning strategy Group A read all of the material ONCE then took practice tests Group B read and reread the books, vocab and everything else On EXAM day Group A outperformed Group B by ALOT And that is because they confused similarity with mastery When your learning a new language you don’t want to be like Group B Don’t read and familiarize yourself with material, or just study some textbooks, or study grammar rules NO don’t do that You must actually USE that knowledge so once you have learned something once lets say yesterday we learned I want. I have and I need BOOOM you learned it and then you used it RIGHT AWAY And that is how you should use vocabulary and that is the best way to actually learn it in context Because if you learn vocabulary out of context and just see random letters you will never achieve fluency and mastery over that language In the end, if you want to learn Vocabulary learn it once and use it many times and then it will get stuck in your brain in context Thanks @Emma Fábryová for this post our conversation yesterday sparked this topic PS: The classroom has some good material on this and what words you should remember Sending everyone Love and Peace ❤️🔥✌🏻

This is awesome and quite familiar to me as an educator. Why do I struggle to make it happen for myself?!! I really do feel like the couch was sitting in the Grand Canyon drinking some kombucha when all of a sudden it started snowing walnuts!! I'm on holiday in May, back in Spain, and I am still struggling to find the time to learn some Spanish! My work puts so many demands on me (or am I letting familiarity and habit rule my life?)
