@Michelle Lorusso It's a lot! To keep it as simple as possible, most days it is about 6 eggs for breakfast (with veggies and a complex carb), a protein powder/fruit/greens smoothie as a snack, a very "heavy on the chicken" salad and steak/ground beef with dinner.
12/3 Check-in
Movement: More snow shenanigans today. We only had a few inches of snow overnight and it was a quick 20 minute job to shovel it all. Not even worthy of busting out the snow blower. However I ended up spending another 40 minutes raking snow off of the roof of the house as I noticed ice dams forming over the front and back doors. Which is like doing cable face pulls, but above your head. Then I had to shovel the snow I pulled off the roof away from the house because if I leave it, it would be a massive snow bank that would melt in the spring and likely cause some flooding in the basement. At least the moon rose early and was beautiful to behold. Leader Habit - Read a few chapters in Team to Tribe and journaled. Hit water & protein goals as well. Checking that last box after I hit POST.

@Elena Nordin Thank you! I grew up in Northern Minnesota and I know some folks don't experience some of this ever and figured I would share some details. I figure it would be informative . . . or a cautionary tale for those that thought about moving to the upper Midwest. lol

@Morgan Vicki Todd You are very welcome. We've had some pretty mild winters these past few years and this year it feels like winter is back. -9F overnight last night and about 12" of snow total so far. I'm in my element . . . my wife however is not a fan. lol
12/3- Third Check In
Great day- made it to Costco (only takes 4-6 hours round trip!) Protein- yes! Water- finishing up right now Movement- squeezed in a 30 min walk at dusk in the freezing cold. Didn’t want to but I did! Have had trouble getting to the gym this week. Definitely going tomorrow. Leadership: Read The Comfort Crisis for 30 min

My Costco is only a few miles away and it is still at least an hour trip minimum. lol I'm going to have to check out that book. Keep it up!
Meditation and Momentum
Couple things; if you do not have a regular meditation practice (and its gotta be daily to get the major benefits) consider that to be a good Leadership Habit to implement this month. @Tanya Folsom and I use the Insight Timer app to track streaks and hold accountability. I shared a meditation workshop in the Classroom section of this app so give it a look! Stoked to see all the great community action on this challenge. What we do together and how we do it defines us and is the core superpower of our species. "Kinship is what has always saved us and always will"-Team to Tribe. Great to see some of my very favorite humans joining us @Ejay Menchavez and @Carolina Saverin lead many of our Wolf Tribe programs and retreats and are great folks to connect with. Also, welcome powerful brother @Brody Davis who is one of the smartest humans I know and another powerful ally joining us here. And lastly...when you're building out your hunts for this December challenge set a floor for expectations. We all know what our ceiling is when we are at our best but the floor is your non-negotiables. Cant go to the gym? Do 100 pushups. Can't write a chapter? Write a paragraph. Can't meditate for 20 minutes? Do 5. I'm still sick but instead of surrendering the field I am caught by my floor of minimum viable standards so I stay in the game and keep momentum. I'm on the floor but staying out of the basement.

This challenge has helped me think a bit differently about how I categorize things and look at what is failure vs adapting. I'm not a consistent meditation practitioner. Sometimes I find I struggle with it due to how much I have in my head and I used to just get frustrated that I didn't hit the 20 minute mark (or whatever time limit I was looking for). Now, when I am struggling, I just look to another leader habit. A few attempts ago, I struggled with where my mind was going and realized I was spiraling. I had only just gotten to 10 minutes of meditation and instead of looking at it as failing, I switched to journaling as it was clear that is what I needed at that point. Sometimes the prey you are after isn't the one available. Adapt, survive and thrive.
