Nature vs. Nurture! (CotW-April wk4)
Let's do something a little different, and play with May Showers, produce April Flowers! Every April Bloom requires a daily Interaction. During a Long Rest, a character can spend 3 minutes tending to their flower (watering it with purified water, singing to it = a successful DC 12 Intelligence (Nature) or Charisma (Performance) check). - The Nurtured Path (Luck): If treated nicely, the flower grants the gardener Heroic Inspiration at the end of the Long Rest. - The Nature’s Wrath Path (Combat): If the flower is thrown as a Magic Missile-like projectile (an Action), it withers instantly but unleashes a localized storm. _____ To use these in a fight, you treat the flower as a Ranged Simple Weapon with the Thrown (20/60) property. Expert Tip: In the 2024 rules, "Heroic Inspiration" is much more common. To make these flowers truly "lucky," if a player already has Heroic Inspiration when they successfully nurture the flower, they can instead choose to reroll one damage die on their next successful attack. The "May Shower" Clause: If a character carrying these flowers is hit by an attack that deals Cold or Acid damage, the flowers "over-hydrate." The character must succeed on a DC 10 Dexterity Saving Throw or the flowers detonate prematurely in their pack, dealing 1d10 Thunder damage and ruining the blossoms.

Speculum Sovereign - COTW(Apr. Wk2)
"The Sovereign doesn't want to kill you. It wants you to watch it exist. The killing is just what happens when you blink." The Speculum Sovereign appears as a humanoid figure composed of living, liquid mercury and shards of enchanted glass. It doesn't wear armor; it wears a shimmering aura of its own perceived "glory." It is always surrounded by a floating ring of ornate, spectral mirrors that show not the world as it is, but the Sovereign as it imagines itself to be: a god-like, flawless entity.

Ostara Egglets-COTW (Apr-wk 1)
Imagine a horde of smooth, calcium-white ovals with spindly, vein-black limbs and a single, unblinking eye staring out from a hairline crack in their shells. They don't want treats. They want to paint the world in the colors of their own bitterness! It is a vengeful horde that only comes out in April, after Easter every year!

The Lachrimort (COTW Mar. wk 5)
If you're looking for a creature that embodies the phrase "misery loves company," look no further. The Lachrimort is a creature that doesn't want to fight you—it just wants you to sit in the rain and contemplate your failures with it. Unfortunately, its sheer gloom is so potent that it leaks into the weave of fate itself. The Lachrimort is best used as a social encounter or a "hazard" during a journey. It isn't malicious; it might even try to "help" the party by sharing its luck, but its gloomy nature makes that luck highly volatile. If the players are mean to it, it doesn't fight back—it just weeps harder, making the surrounding 30 feet difficult terrain due to the sudden puddles of magical tears.
