Hello! My name is Sarah, and I’m an emerging end-of-life doula in Vancouver, BC. I owned a retail boutique for 13 years and recently did a mid-life pivot to work in the death care field. I am “doing all the things”: created a website, active on social media, designing workshops and proposing them to community centres and the like, and currently looking for the perfect venue to host a death cafe. I have been asked to be part of a grassroots community of death workers here in Vancouver who are building something really beautiful. I have yet to have my first bonafide client, but I trust it will come. I’ve joined your group in the hopes of being supported when I feel discouraged and wonder if this career path is viable… if I can truly make it happen. I so believe in this work and that it is needed in the world. Happy and grateful to be here! ❤️
