@Melissa Gill Yes! Ikat is my special interest and passion! That video shows a very controlled version. My explorations have been more with binding and dip dyeing and planned shifting. I’ll find some pictures to share. I’m curious about how printing/stenciling on the warp could give more specific imagery though there would be issues with dyes not really penetrating the whole thread, rather, laying on top and the image becoming patchy in the weaving (not a bad thing)….anyway I’ve always been curious, I think John Marshall once taught some traditional Japanese warp stenciling. There are also ways to make your warp and then split it out after dying in order to create repeats. I’ve been way from weaving for a while so this is all food to get back to it.
@Melissa Gill some pieces with Ikat, I was woking with butterfly spots. The black one is something like 12ft. high. The blue one is pieced from various types of looms and weave structures
