Perspective on reaching your goals.
Hey guys, recorded this video for you earlier today. Hope this helps put things in perspective and gives you the confidence to start working towards your goals without trying to chase perfection. Let me know what you guys think!
Perspective on reaching your goals.

Been busy with midterms and just getting back to seeing recent posts. I think this post is helpful, and it’s good to talk about the beneficial cap to most things that is easier to reach/maintain than some optimal “perfect” goal. On the post on IG you made with this chart you talk about getting results with no supplements and no calorie tracking… Now within the diminishing returns is 0.5-0.75g protein/lb and a 500-1000 calorie deficit which seem totally reasonable. Lets say I’m 250 pounds and tdee calculate estimates maintenance to be about 2150. Do you have any advice on how one can consistently hit 125g protein and 1650 calories without tracking? I’ve tracked then not tracked before and find I struggle with accuracy when not tracking, but find tracking annoying long term.

@Matthew Fichtner That definitely would be easier to stay in a deficit. I’m 80-100 pounds away from goal (more shooting for a feeling/look than a specific weight as I have been in the obese category my entire adult life and have no idea what any specific weight will look like on me). Is fruit during the day and a large lean protein with healthy starch meal at supper (with I’m guessing flexibility for life to happen from time to time ie birthday, wedding, vacation)… is that ok to do long term? Like if I’m in a 500cal deficit to lose 100 pounds could take a couple years. Is OMAD + fruit healthy for years at a time, or should there be periods to eat more protein, starch and fiber?

1. Sara from NE Texas 2. Encouragement, inspiration and accountability 3. To lose 100 more pounds of fat (down 18lb since late May and 49lbs from my biggest), build muscle and protect/gain mobility. Also this time want to build sustainable habits vs bouncing between short term challenges.

@Matthew Fichtner Tracking macros and walking mostly. When I originally lost a bunch I was also doing some shorter resistance training workouts and different cardio. But for the 18 I’m down this summer just tracking and walking.

Welcome to The Legacy Coaching CommunityFirst off—thank you for joining. This isn’t just another free group. This is where busy parents and professionals come to finally break the cycle of failed diets and drop real weight—fast. For those who don’t know me, my name’s Matt. You might know me from my IG @mattsmagicmacros, you might be one of the 10,000+ people who grabbed my Healthy Ninja Creami Recipe Book, or maybe you’ve seen my brand MACROMAGIX—the only sound-reducing cover for the Ninja Creami. But more importantly: I’ve spent over 20 years as a Marine Corps officer and Cobra helicopter pilot, and now in my 40s, I’m on a mission to be in the best shape of my life while helping other busy people do the same. Most diets fail because they’re too complicated, too time-consuming, or too slow. That’s why I built the Legacy System—a simple, proven approach where my clients lose their first 10 lbs in an average of just 19 days, then keep going at 2–3 lbs per week. Everything inside this group is completely free. It works. All you have to do is take action. ✅ Step #1: COMMENT your biggest struggle with losing weight (so we know you read this). ✅ Step #2: WATCH the “Start Here” module in the "Classroom" Section ✅ Step #3: BOOK your free strategy call if you want a custom 90-day plan. https://calendly.com/mattfichtner/legacy-coaching-consult-30-min Take those actions—and welcome again! 😄

Self sabotage, I know what to do, and I have honestly done it for months at a time. But I think part of me doesn’t believe that I’ll ever reach my goal, or ever keep it off. The one time I got the farthest, I had lost over 100 pounds in two years and I didn’t recognize myself anymore, I didn’t know what clothes to buy, or even what stores I like because I’ve shopped in plus size stores exclusively for years. And I was really tired of weighing and logging my food after two years. I just completely fell back into the old habits and put a majority of the weight back on. Highest weight 294 June 2020 Lowest ever as an adult 283 July 2022 Starting again weight 263 June 2025 Current weight 245 Today. Having over 100 pounds to lose as a short female husband has been a frustrating part of the journey. When I started it in 2020 my goal was to lose 150 pounds. Right now it’s to lose about 100 more of fat and to build muscle.
