New Premium Lesson: Gift Bags That Make Your Brand Feel Memorable
Gift bags are one of those small details that can make a purchase feel like a little more than “here you go, thanks for buying.” They don't need to be fancy. They don't need to be stuffed full of random freebies. But when they are done well, they can make your handmade business feel more thoughtful, more polished and easier to remember. 👉🏼There is also something that often gets missed. When a customer walks away from your table carrying a branded bag, they are still walking around the market with your business name on display. Other shoppers notice what people are carrying. They might ask where they bought something, spot your logo or decide to come and find your booth before they leave.🎉 📢That is free advertising while the market is still happening. The new Premium lesson, Gift Bags That Make Your Brand Feel Memorable, looks at the sales psychology behind gift bags and shares five ideas you can adapt to suit your own products, budget and brand. I talk about how gift bags can add perceived value without discounting your work, help customers feel good about what they bought and give them a reason to remember you after the market is over. You will also find practical ideas that do not require you to spend a fortune or create a whole extra job for yourself before every market. If you have ever wondered whether gift bags are worth the effort or what you could include without it feeling like cheap filler, this lesson is now inside the Premium Classroom.

I do invest in cool bags. Sometimes at a show the customer is walking around holding a few items and even though I sell small stickers, it's always appreciated when I give them a large bag. I guess it makes me feel good!

@Lisa Graham They're like a 9x5. I usually have clear, sealable bags for the stickers. I don't hand them out that often! They're kind of pricey.
Where are you advertising your products and upcoming markets?
💫There are so many places vendors can promote what they’re making and where they’ll be selling next, but I’m curious about what’s actually working for you right now. Are you using social media? Local Facebook groups? Posters around town? Email lists? Word of mouth? Maybe you’ve found a local event calendar that brings people through the door? Share where you’re advertising your handmade products and upcoming craft markets in the comments. If something has worked especially well for you, tell us about that too. It might be exactly the idea another vendor has been looking for.❤️

I'll post on Facebook via share if there's an event that I'm a part of taking place. I have to get better at doing that. I don't use Pinterest.
Slow markets happen.
If you've been vending for any length of time, you've probably had at least one event where you spent more time watching the aisles than helping customers. 😡It's frustrating.😩 You start wondering whether the event was worth it, whether you picked the wrong market or whether everyone else is somehow having a better day than you. The truth is that every vendor experiences slow markets from time to time. That's exactly why I've added a new lesson to the Vendors classroom: 📚 What to Do During Slow Craft Markets This lesson looks at how to make the most of quieter events, what you can learn from them and how to use that time in ways that actually benefit your business. I also talk about something that doesn't get discussed very often... how to stay professional when chatting with other vendors. The craft market world is smaller than most people realise and your reputation follows you from market to market. 👉🏼A slow market doesn't have to be a wasted market. Sometimes the lessons you learn on the quiet days end up helping you the most. Have you ever had a market that started off painfully slow and then surprised you by the end of the day?👇

Also, vendors know about other events that you may not know about.
Here's the challenge for today...
I'm hardcore thinking about signing up for a craft market/home show. 🎪 The booth measurements are 10' X 8'. Today, I'm working on a floor plan that will optimise the floor space. (I need at least 16' of display real estate.) Wish me luck as I've never had a booth before!! 👇🏼Let me know in the comments if you'd like to see what I come up with.

Will it be semi permanent? It seems like a lot of work for a weekend. I have my items in a flea market and it's one of the best decisions I've done. There's 150 shops in there and if one person advertises, we all win because people are coming through the door! Good luck.
