I lost my little Mazel today. I've been watching her closely over the past couple of days, knowing something was off. She was still eating and drinking. She was using the litter box but all of a sudden she couldn't hear me. She went deaf overnight. Today she had an episode of incontinence and wouldn't move. Picking her up was like picking up a rag. Then she started panting like a dog. Then she went into full-blown respiratory distress. She is now with my son, Simcha and the rest of my pets. I'll miss my little girl. 🥹🥹

"Heroes on Both Ends of the Leash" This issue features our first ever Hero of the Month, a tribute to K9 Knight, a Chesterfield County, VA Police Department K9 who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. He is the most recent K9 in the U.S. to be killed in the line of duty. I have to admit... Creating K9 Knight's tribute brought tears to my eyes. His story is a reminder that some heroes wear a badge and some wear a collar. This magazine is becoming so much more than I imagined. It will be education. It will be science. It will be community.
