Wednesday Nugget From Professor C. Nugget - Microbiome Minute
Look down at his shoes Before you make fun of his shoes... Black Converse high-tops. 😂 I love him 🤣 It's like he's saying: "Science is serious. Dress code is optional." Or... "I've got a Ph.D. in Nuggets, but I'm still cool." Did you know? Nearly 70% of your immune system is associated with your gut. Your microbiome, those trillions of beneficial bacteria living in your digestive tract, does far more than help digest food. It plays a role in: - Immune health - Brain function and mood - Inflammation - Metabolism - Protection against harmful microbes When the microbiome becomes unbalanced, your body may begin sending subtle signals like fatigue, digestive discomfort, brain fog, skin issues, or frequent illness. The good news? Your microbiome is constantly changing. Every healthy choice you make, from the foods you eat to the quality of your sleep, helps shape its future. Functional medicine doesn't just ask, "What's wrong?" It asks, "Why is it happening?" The microbiome is often one of the first places to look.

I stopped eating white sugar 1.5 years ago. I'm assuming that was a nice thing to do for my gut? I'm not ready to quit coffee yet. It's one of the few treats I look forward to. I can't imagine switching to something else. I am trying to limit the amount I drink.
In honor of Father's Day
In honor of Father's Day, list some things your dad says or used to say. Here's a few my dad used to say: 1. When I say jump, jump, and on the way up ask how high. 2. Use your head for something besides a hat rack. 3. You are who your friends are. 4. The answers no, now what do you want.

Ha ha. My Dad's best advice EVER was when I was moaning about not being able to complete my homework he said, "If you had used this time to do your homework instead of kvetching, you'd be done by now". That's motivated me throughout my life!
MAZEL
I lost my little Mazel today. I've been watching her closely over the past couple of days, knowing something was off. She was still eating and drinking. She was using the litter box but all of a sudden she couldn't hear me. She went deaf overnight. Today she had an episode of incontinence and wouldn't move. Picking her up was like picking up a rag. Then she started panting like a dog. Then she went into full-blown respiratory distress. She is now with my son, Simcha and the rest of my pets. I'll miss my little girl. 🥹🥹

That's so sad. I'm so sorry.
SNEAK PEEK ALERT
I've been quietly working behind the scenes on something special... The inaugural issue of Simcha Pet Physiology Digest is coming together beautifully, and will launch soon. I wanted to give you a sneak peek at two pages from the Founder's Edition. Meet Bella. Our first-ever Pet of the Month! Because let's face it, pet parents love bragging about their fur babies, and honestly, we love hearing their stories. ❤️ 🐾 And... For those that do not know, my surviving son is a detective. I come from a military/law enforcement family. So this was a must! "Heroes on Both Ends of the Leash" This issue features our first ever Hero of the Month, a tribute to K9 Knight, a Chesterfield County, VA Police Department K9 who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. He is the most recent K9 in the U.S. to be killed in the line of duty. I have to admit... Creating K9 Knight's tribute brought tears to my eyes. His story is a reminder that some heroes wear a badge and some wear a collar. This magazine is becoming so much more than I imagined. It will be education. It will be science. It will be community. It will celebrate the pets who enrich our lives. And it's honoring the animals who serve, protect, comfort, and inspire us every day. I'd love your feedback: Would you read a magazine like this? Would you submit your pet for a future issue? Do you know a police K9, military working dog, service dog, therapy dog, or search-and-rescue dog whose story deserves to be told? Would you be interested in advertising, becoming a Featured Partner, or sharing your pet-related business, community, or mission? This magazine will be distributed globally on and off Skool. Thoughts? Questions?
