If you had to learn Linux again, how would you do it?

Back in year 2000 I "inherited" a Slackware Exim mailserver in a small 30 people company where i started working as sysadmin. Previous admin relocated to other part of the world, and I was left with a task to migrate mailserver to new AD we were setting up with Outlook. During migration I had to learn using VI since terminal access over SSH was only way to interact with the server. It was all new to me since I came from M$ world :) My regret is I deleted that server and use only Outlook, I might have kept it and learn more about Linux.. But it is never too late to start again, I use Debian on my workstation for last 5 years and started learning to use FreeBSD as-well since I think it is great OS to learn besides Linux. There is more consistency in docs on FreeBSD, things don't change that often (it still has ifconfig in base), you get complete os out of the box (kernel + userland), great packaging system with simple "pkg" command (instead of Linux distro specific apt, dnf, etc...). So my ten cents is, learning by doing is the best way for me to get new skills, so I am happy to be here <3
