A lot of African energy strategy right now is balancing oil & gas monetization with long term goals toward renewables. How do you actually decide what’s worth investing in vs. what could become a good asset in 10–15 years?
Hi I'm Sammy!
Hi everyone, my name is Sammy Barake and I’m a sophomore, Finance student at Baylor University. I’m really interested in global markets and how the energy sector shapes economic growth and geopolitical dynamics, through my experience in financial analysis and working on strategy-focused projects, I’ve started to see how critical energy is as the foundation of entire industries (the podcast helped me learn more!) I’m excited to be part of this network and to learn from others who are passionate about the future of energy.

@Emilio Faulmata Really appreciate that Emilio, glad to hear that perspective! As a student from a finance background, I’ve been piecing it together and really starting to see how critical the strategic side of energy is beyond just the technical work. Really looking forward to learning more on Wednesday!

I like how you’re combining the technical side with the bigger strategic picture that’s something I’m starting to realize is really important too. I’m a sophomore studying finance so I’m looking at it more from the market's decision-making side but it’s interesting how both perspectives connect in real projects. Curious how you see that playing out at scale?
