hard sparring 4/4
today i just boxed, did one round of kickboxing to warm up but boxed every other round. ive gotten p sloppy w my hands and boxing, esp in my fight, i remember my coach told me the biggest thing i needed to work on was my boxing. so td i wanted to focus on just boxing so i coukd get a feel again for just using my hands what i did well: body shots moving around idk not that much lmaoo i was working on my weakness td so i wasnt too hot what i need to work on: capitalizing on misses and slips, had so many times where i slipped or my opponent didnt connect n i didnt do anything, i need to build those reflexes keeping my mind active, i would hit a shot n then move back n j stand there n then get hit cs i would basically j stare n think bt what i j did, i need to always b thinking on my feet not standing still on the outside staying on the inside, my coach told me to stay as in the pocket as possible and i was doing so much better, its j hard to fight like that cs it takes so much energy but i j gotta get used to it keeping pressure on opponent, also takes a lot of energy not standing still on the outside head movement on the inside sometimes i parry but shoot my arm out way too much or try to defend n over extend n leave myself open, needa work on that too next week ill prob do 1 boxing round w everyone n then 1 kickboxing round w everyone, but i felt like i got 1% better td which is my goal for every day

Proper Sleep
Hey everyone, I was just wondering if anybody else has any good methods of getting proper sleep with high volume training. I’ve always struggled with getting enough sleep and have had more difficulty with this lately from my work schedule. Ideally, I’d like to get to sleep by 9:00 p.m after getting home from training around 8:30 ish to be up and ready for my work shift by 3:45 a.m. I find it hard to go from a high adrenaline rush from training right into sleep without a good few hours of hanging around and doing stuff around the house first. Anybody have any good cooldown techniques or pre-sleep routines that help get your body and mind ready to fall asleep?

light sparring 4/1
i was the smallest guy at sparring today, but sparred a lot of people with a good mix of skill levels so i got some good experience in. also felt really tired and weak today im not sure why but i didnt feel a hundred percent so i dont think my performance was as good as it usually is what i did well on: feinting kicks timing rear leg low kick with opponent coming in using hands on the outside using riskier moves (trying to work on being confident with spinning back fist and spinning hook/back kicks) what i need to work on: closing off my opponent not getting closed off (one specific guy was reslly really good at this and kept me in the corner the whole round) PRESSURE AND USING HANDS its honestly p frustrating tryn figure out how to fifht taller guys, been trying to get better at it n i always feel like i csnt b confident w it. i think i j need to b a craftier fighter, i have some low iq moments a lot of the time like today i basicslly walked into a hook kick that was already out there but i feel like im j not good w setups or baits, i j wanna b a smarter fighter in general like the type that thinks 3 moves ahead

watching fighters
today in sparring i tried to copy some setups and combos i learned from watching k1 fighter takumi terada, and a lot of it worked. i dont know why i havent tried this sooner, i watch a lot of ufc but not a lot of pure kickboxing, when i watch pure kickboxing im able to pick up on so much shit. im excited to watch takeru vs rodtang this weekend n hopefully pick up on some stuff, does anyone have any other favorite fighters to study? coaches alr told me to watch ramon dekkers, dany bill, n lerdsila
