They say you nailed the meeting. But you're still replaying it at 2 am. Train a new response to pressure so you can stop bracing and start enjoying.

Is that true?
It’s really interesting how we can go through life taking every element of our thoughts as truth. I was talking with a client this week about it and she realised that most of what she was basing her interactions with people on were assumptions resulting from her thoughts. It was leading to some pretty unhappy situations. Now, the usual advice would be that you’ve just got to change your thoughts. And, you’ve probably heard many times that if you change your thoughts you will change your life. Sounds reasonable, right? Well, if that’s the case, what’s stopping you fro doing it? Spoiler alert: there’s one crucial step that’s probably missing. You see, neuroscience tells us that our thoughts are automatic and they run at tens of thousands a day. So, what if I told you it’s not your thoughts you need to be focusing on? 🙀 I’m challenging you to take the next three days and instead of trying to change your thoughts you focus on what you’re THINKING about your thoughts. Now, when you look at what you’re thinking about your thoughts, ask yourself if it’s true. Let’s keep the conversation going in the thread to see how you can change the ‘Quality’ of your thoughts by addressing what you’re thinking about them…

How many times has someone told you to “just breathe”?
Over the years, I’ve had clients tell me that when they’re already under pressure, those words can feel like the icing on the cake. One more reminder that they can’t even do that right. So, when pressure rises, do you use a breathing technique? What have you tried, and does it help when you actually need it? I’ll come back with some practical guidance based on what you tell me, including breathwork processes I use with clients, how breathing can help you reset, and what to explore if the same response keeps returning.

What shows up first for you?
Pressure often gives you an early clue. It might be a tight feeling in your head, a change in your breathing, or a sudden urge to get your answer out quickly. I call those early clues your stress fingerprint. Yours will be personal to you, and noticing what happens first gives you a useful place to begin. Think back to a recent meeting, deadline, or conversation. What was your first sign that pressure had arrived? Just a few words is plenty ...

@Bella Bianchini Knowing this is great awareness. We now get to look beneath that symptom to change your response. How uncomfortable does your jaw and head get? Once the pressure is over, do those symptoms settle down or do they hang around for a while?

@Bella Bianchini Let me know how it's changing as you work through the modules in The Stress Reset Method.
The part people couldn’t hear
I spent years delivering news live on air. No retakes, no do-overs. That experience taught me how much can happen in the seconds when pressure rises. People hear the finished sentence. They don’t necessarily know what it took to get there. Your response in that moment can shape what you say and do, even when you know your work inside out. Where does that “no retakes” feeling show up in your world?

🟢 START HERE: Your response to pressure can change!
Even when you know your work inside out, pressure can change how you think and perform in the moment. In The Mind Mastery Guild, we use mental conditioning to train that automatic response, so more of your capability is available when it matters. You’re in the free community, where you can join the conversation and watch the Stress Reset Masterclass replay in the Classroom. Here’s where to begin: 1. Say hello below. Tell us where you’re joining from and one situation you’d like to meet differently. You can keep the details broad. 2. Watch the masterclass. Take it at your own pace. If you have a question or notice something about your own response to pressure, bring it into the conversation below. 3. Choose your next step. Full Guild access is $47/month and includes The Stress Reset Method™, The Mastery Vault, The Mastery Bonuses, The Reset Call, and The Rewire Call. The $397/month option includes everything in the Guild plus private Voxer coaching with me. If you’re anything like me, you’d rather have all the details now rather than waiting until the end of the masterclass. So here’s your choose-your-own-adventure moment: keep engaging in the community, watch the masterclass, or take a look at The Mind Mastery Guild whenever you’re ready. https://www.sallybarker.com.au/regular_mmg Start with one real moment of pressure. We can work from there. Let’s begin. Sally

I spent years live on air, no retakes, no do-overs, learning to perform under real pressure. Now I help people in demanding roles do the same.
