Navigating CKD-5 in Family While Managing Personal Kidney Health Concerns
Hello everyone, My father, aged 58, is currently diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 5 and is undergoing maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) twice a week, although thrice weekly sessions have been advised. I am 24 years old and underwent Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery in October–November 2025 for kidney stones. The stones in my left kidney and ureter were removed, while a 2 mm stone remains in my right kidney, for which I have been prescribed Potrate MB. I am currently overweight by approximately 22 kg, and my blood pressure readings typically range between 140–150/70–90 mmHg. Given my father’s condition, I have developed significant concern regarding my own kidney health. At the time of my surgery, my creatinine level was 0.9 mg/dL. I am interested in joining this community to better support my father and to proactively manage and safeguard my own health.
