I started a round of SS-31 (from The Peptique), and thought I’d give an update since this is one that not many folks talk about. I’ve never done a mitochondria detox, so I wanted to do SS-31 to “prime” my system for the upcoming mitochondria peps I want to do, since I’ve been exposed to the same microplastics and environmental contaminants we all have living on this earth. I started with a 250mcg dose, because I was terrified of the exhaustion so many talk about when starting. Even at 250mcg, I could feel the fatigue a bit the first few days, and even got nauseous at one of my workouts. But then that stopped. I’m now feeling really good with steady energy through the day, and no afternoon crash. This morning I was checking my sleep stats. 30-45 minutes of Deep Sleep is about average for me. I get excited if I see 45-50 minutes of deep sleep on my sleep score. For the past week and a half I’ve had 1-1/2 hours of deep sleep almost nightly!!! I love seeing biological markers that help you know a pep is doing something, so this was exciting to me, and also helps explain why I am feeling so good! I’m a little over a week in, and planning to do the 250mcg for a full 2 weeks before bumping to 500mcg. The goal is to get to 1-2mg by the end of a 12 week cycle. I am also pairing with Glutathione (liposomal) and high doses of vitamin C. I’ll post the podcast whose protocol I am following for this below in the comments if you want to hear it. Studies of SS-31 have used doses up to 40mg, so I have no concerns about “overdosing” with my protocol. These studies have also been over multiple years, and have indicated that you may not need to cycle SS-31. Optimizing protocols generally call for 1-5mg daily over 8-12 weeks, which is what I plan to do. I got The Peptique SS-31 and reconstituted with 2ml BAC. There’s been no sting (which I’ve heard is sometimes a thing for SS-31?), and I think that adding the 2ml helps with that (this is also Tara’s recommendation on her cheat sheet). It does seem to be a thicker peptide, and takes a minute to draw out and also get the air out after I draw it.
