hitting himself when he's upset as he cannot communicate the issue 😩

Hassan gives tight squeezes and puts his cheek out for me to kiss him. when he thinks I'm upset he puckers his lips to give me a kiss and checks that I'm 'happy' before walking away. I'll never take his love for granted 🥰

Hi I'm Sabha, my little boy is Hassan age 4.5. we are awaiting an autism diagnosis (very difficult to get before the age of 5 here in the uk). which also means we get little to no support, no speech therapy, ABA etc. Hassan is non verbal and does not have much functional play. He has recently shown interest in books and will look st them so carefully. he also enjoys 'mixing food' he calls it as he helps me cook. Hassan is a gestalt language processor but we experience words or recently phrases and then may not hear them again for a while. 'mixing foods' is his first phrase used in context and I'm a proud mama. Hassan is a foodie, and sensory seeker- especially movement and pressure related. Hassan doesn't like loud overstimulating environments. I enjoy intensive interactions with hassan and copy his stimming. He is so so affectionate. I'd love to find ways to increase focus in Hassan and help bring on his speech
