Did I Really Lose 2 Weeks Of Code Updates?
I was creating a second version of a pricing engine I built. Claude decided to deploy onto my live site, and then overwrote the local file where the latest updates for that code lived, apparently. The last commit to git was two weeks ago. So, I think I just lost 2 weeks of de-bugging code cause I didn't commit the latest version to git. Is this real? Did I just skip the most important step -- saving my work? This is a real thing, right?

@Ruby Sparks I run a script that commits my workspace every 10 minutes all day...I too learned the hard way and had some nice scares. Also, nothing deploys until a commit exists, 1,160 is the read off my git for the month of Sept lol glad ya found em
The Toyota Camry & ICM Have What In Common?
First...a quote from @Nuno Silva: "Stop what you're doing - Watch this Ry Mac video [link removed] You can have no coding knowledge or you could be the best programmer in the world. You will learn a lot from this video. Great work Ry. Truly appreciate you!" _____ Second...a quote from @Michael Steve "Amazing content! Thanks @Nuno Silva for highlighting it. This is very similar to an “ecosystem-sync” I run anytime changes are made that might affect 2 or more platforms in my ecosystem. It logs the discrepancies in a log and then synchronizes. It also checks to see that the changes are applied ecosystem wide before it reports. I remembered to comment when I was prompted to run this few moments ago. (So mine prompts me when major changes are made instead of periodically ) Your process @Ry Mac is a more structured one that anyone can use immediately. Great work. [IMAGE REDACTED]" ___ 2 BUILDERS I RESPECT 💪... ___ [The Camry & ICM] The 20+ year old models were built simple with not many things that can break (not over engineered) & I still see them whizzing around today.🚘 📁Your ICM is the same...they will last forever but you need to maintain them or they will "rot". ✅I do this every Sunday, so today is maintenance day for my ICM. (So I did my audit yesterday and recorded it) 📈I recently updated my audit skill today and I'm sharing it with you. It's 4 layers...The 4R's: -Read -Run -Reality -Report 2 ideas in the Read layer come from @Jake Van Clief's own ICM audit, written fresh here: "a rule that lives only in a sentence, and an example that breaks the rule printed beside the example." This version is several iterations later to get it where I needed it for my ICM Folder Structure. Watch the video to understand what, why, how I had to continue to update the skill for the way I whizbang around.

Dumbest in the Room... (Lyceum Update #002)
Hey everyone, first update since my intro. In that post I said learning and building can quietly become a substitute for selling. 12 days later, I'm the proof. Here are my benchmarks as of today: 0 sales conversations with buyers, 0 paid clients, and 64 days until my deadline for a signed, paid client. That's on me. One thing I've taken from @Jake Van Clief is to ask yourself the hardest, most detailed questions you can about your own business and build toward the answers. When I do that, the hardest ones aren't about building. I built a pipeline dashboard on top of Karbon for an accounting firm with Claude Code. The hardest question I currently have is one a prospect could ask me on the first call: "Why you? What experience do you have that shows you can do what you claim?" Right behind it: "What is this costing me right now, in dollars?" I can't answer either one well yet, and until I can, getting people on a call and actually selling to them is going to stay hard. What I'm doing about it this week: sending my first 3 personalized Looms to small accounting firms that has the sole objective of getting a reply. No selling in the video. 3 this week to small accounting firms, then more once I see what lands. Fuck it, I'm not going to learn anything if I don't do anything about it. I'll post how it goes, even if nobody replies. What I'm asking for: if you've had real sales conversations for an AI consultancy or AI implementation business, I want to learn from you. I'm putting together a small peer-to-peer group that meets once a week. Everyone brings what they did that week, what they learned, and one thing they're stuck on, and we hold each other to it. Especially looking for people a step or two ahead of me, but same stage is fine too, as long as it's the same kind of business. Comment or DM me with what your business sells, who it sells to, and how many sales conversations you've had so far. Thanks. Khalil, of Norvain

The hardest question I currently have is one a prospect could ask me on the first call: "Why you? What experience do you have that shows you can do what you claim?" Right behind it: "What is this costing me right now, in dollars?" I can't answer either one well yet, and until I can, getting people on a call and actually selling to them is going to stay hard." Operative word here is "could" They could also hear you tell them about the problems you solve for them so that they don't have to deal with it and see the value in you solving that problem. They could ask how much it cost and you say way less than you're going to see in return. Neither have happened because you haven't had the conversation yet. I've had 1000s of sales conversations and trained 1000s more and stood up sales floors. First: sales is a framework, it's not about "if they say this then I have to say that" Sales is genuinely wanting to help people solve their problems and showing them the clear roadmap to that problem being solved. And sending looms was never sending a sales loom. If you're doing cold outreach it's about gaining interest and leading in with some sort of value. There's a $5 in your hand, it's not empty and you're not asking them for something, anything in return but the conversation. You lead with some value and the fact you took the time to learn about them , and then you tell them what you do and ask if that's worth discussing further...without any context on what it is you're trying to accomplish... [on loom] "Hey, I'm RyMac, I noticed that your Linked In post you just posted about [x thing]. That's really awesome. I wanted to take the time and let you know that I went ahead and did [random x thing] for you. I take over these tedious tasks so that you can focus on [what they'd rather be doing] BUT It starts with research of the niche you're going after. You need to know their pains, lingo, profit margins are, what percentage of your ask is their margins, things like that...then you're having a conversation with them.
Folder Organization
I keep running into issues with organizing my file structure. I keep having to tell my chats to review the ICM templates and examples to make sure workflows are structured accordingly, but I still feel like i'm all over the place. Has anyone else had similar issues or suggestions for assistance. It feels like it takes hours just to create one workflow, let alone test it🫠. I already have a workflow and skills for creating the files and folder organization but still having issue!

@Edward Owsley-Longino It took me 3 weeks to get the hang of it but now I have 1 folder that holds 9.9K files, 2.2k folders, and 2.64M words. I made this post in here the other day It sounds like you don't have a source of truth (claude.md) and your context.mds set up properly. I just posted a video in my group about the 4R audit that I use and a lot of high level builders are saying it's really good process, you might need to run my audit on that (posting this in here shortly on it's own post) When I tried to jam ICM onto my mess, it still sucked, this was the day it clicked for me (Jake Shouted me out) I would start at the day it clicked, then go to the 1 folder post, and then the 4R audit. Hopefully it helps 💪
Module 4 finally has its new videos 🎉
Apparently “I’ll get those videos out soon” needed a clearer deadline. Preferably one I actually followed. 😂 Sorry these took longer than planned, everyone. The new videos for Foundation lessons 4.1–4.4 are now live! These look quite different from most of my videos. I’m trying a mix of animation, actual app screenshots, highlighted instructions, and worked examples to make the ideas easier to follow—and easier to try yourself. Here’s where to jump in: 👉 4.1: Install and First Use — 5:37 Start here if you’re still getting comfortable working with AI and local files. Grab the Foundation Practice download in Resources so you have something concrete to work with. 👉 4.2: Working With Files — 7:45 Take a few meeting notes and turn them into a decision list you can actually check. Who agreed to what? Where did that deadline come from? What’s still unanswered? 👉 4.3: Think, Then Build — 8:24 For those times when you ask AI for a whole plan before you’ve quite decided what you want. Compare your options, choose an approach, and turn it into a short brief before building. 👉 4.4: Project Instructions — 7:09 Give your AI a useful onboarding note: where to find the context, where the draft should go, and what needs checking. Includes the AGENTS.md / CLAUDE.md connection for people using Codex, Claude Code, or both. You can also follow the exercises with a regular chat tool and save the files yourself. I would love some honest feedback on this style. Does the animation help things click? Are the app screenshots useful? Is anything moving too quickly—or taking too long?
