Well a week ago my day started like this... (see first photo) The good thing, I wasn't in the vehicle at the time. It was parked on the street outside my place.. The guy who hit my car, got all his info and repairs are in progress. Things I'm not happy about is that my insurance company said they'd send out an on side adjuster to assess it. He didn't call me until about the end of the day to say he'd be coming the next day. Then I didn't hear back from the claims agent until almost the end of the day. So my car didn't get towed to the repair shop until 2 days after the accident. I'm not exactly impressed or feeling like a valued customer. I also felt the "Great news! The other party has accepted full liability. We can now waive the deductible. " email was condescending. Like no shit. My car was parked and unattended at the time of the incident. Clearly I didn't have anything to do with it. But since I prefer to end on a high note, on Saturday morning I happened to be on Facebook and saw actor Michael Beck was going to be giving a talk at local library event that day. Michael played the lead character opposite Olivia Newton-John in a movie called Xanadu. It's kind of a cheesy movie but I love it and I had already gotten a laserdisc copy of the movie signed by Olivia a little before she passed away. Well this seemed like it was meant for me to see, and I thought I should attend and see if he'd be willing to sign my laserdisc too. But first I had to figure out how to get there. I sent a message to a nearby friend who also loves the movie to see if he wanted to go. Fortunately he did want to go and he was happy to drive. We went, enjoyed his talk, and I took my shot to see if he'd sign it. He did and I'm excited because it really made my week end on a high note.
