@Brock Leamon Yes! Love it!

@Gavin Logan pretty good here too, but also comes off a bit calculated. The closing remark could be slightly different - for example a bit more open ended: Although you mentioned that you were hoping for $70k, what this does provide you with is the move into an upscale full-service role that you were looking for. I knew they would love you - I’m excited for you! What’s a good time to chat today and discuss the offer?
Final Rejection - Jamal
No one likes to reject a person. Let's see how you do with being loving and graceful, yet firm.

@Brock Leamon GREAT. Considering this was after 3 interviews - you treated him with dignity and kept the door open in the relationship. I like it!

Pretty good! It’s a bit less of an open door and feels a little more cold. I know this is hypothetical, but add some personality to these as well. Make sure it feels personal and thoughtful.

@Brock Leamon I love your tender approach to this - it comes off very kind and compassionate. There are a few grammatical errors here - we're in training, so there's plenty of room to work on this. Make sure by the time you begin communicating to clients and candidates that's all dialed in. I'd remove this line, because you never know for sure how people are feeling: I'm sure you're nervous about what to expect so I am here to help refresh/guide you along the way to help balance out some of the emotions you may be feeling. Remember to breathe, smile, and pace yourself. My client has already reviewed your resume and found you fit for an interview so be cool, calm and collected. They want honesty over correct answers so don't overthink your responses. [Client] is looking for someone who's personable, and operates well under stress. These are all characteristics I already gathered from you during our interview. You will hit this interview out of the ballpark, no doubt. I wish you much success and if you have any other worries or concerns just let me know.

@Gavin Logan good! I will send you and Brock the template I use that has some clever additions to help them prep. For now, I can see you understand the concept. Good job!
Preventing Flakes and Fall-Offs
Let me be the first to say, there are few things more embarrassing than a candidate going missing when there is an offer on the way - and few things more discouraging than when a candidate gets an offer and bails. How would you handle one of the example scenarios?
1 like • Jan 15
@Brock Leamon Scenario B & C are great. For scenario A, your response is good. When flakiness at this stage happens, you'll need to reach out multiple times in most cases. Keep your first response. For your second - Hey [name], haven't heard from you - I hope everything is okay. How would you like to proceed here? If there's something about the offer you need me to talk through with you, I'm here! Then a third: Hello again [name], I hope you're well. If I don't get a response to this message, I will assume that you are no longer interested. Thank you!
