What do you think is the advantage of this being the subject line
Have you done this before?
I seem to be blanking right now. Pitched the community card to someone in the garage door industry. They are interested after I sent them the info and said they were ready for the invoice. Once I sent the invoice they asked if I have done this before and to see samples. How should I approach that without scaring them away that I haven’t done this before

@Joe Chianese I’ve messed around with many, from what Mitchel recommends to my own made up scripts. Haven’t found anything that works consistently. I know Les says don’t price drop right off the bat, but I’ve been experimenting with both. The script I used for this garage door guy was: Hey, this is Ryan – I’m a local and I grew up here in Sarasota. I’m putting together a 6.5x12” shared postcard that’s being mailed to 2,500 high-income Sarasota homeowners this January. I’m featuring a small mix of local businesses, one per industry, so whoever locks in the garage door spot gets full exclusivity. $175 total for design, printing, postage, and USPS delivery! If this sounds interesting, I’d be happy to share more details.

@Joe Chianese I’m thinking about $25 or $50. My community card is $175. I want to make it well worth it for them but don’t give up too too much of profits. But again, I’ll trade time for money like that any day of the week
Route selection
I’ve heard many times that advertising works best when there are many points of contact with your potential clients. So with that being said, are you hitting the same route on one mailer as you do the next mailer? Or are you hitting one route and then the next mailer hits a different part of town?
A Suggestion
I may be wrong but I feel that the majority of members are focusing on the wrong thing. Never focus on the things you fell inadequate regarding, or the weakness you see in yourself, or your busy schedule, or your fears. Etc Focus on why you're doing this biz. Why? Why were you looking for a way to make more money? Be honest with yourself. Why were you looking? Has that reason changed? I highly doubt it. What you have learned is no matter what you do business wise, it involves changes, involves work and action, it involves learning. It involves being teachable and coachable and yes business has expenses. Till you are honest with yourself and make a decision you will flounder like a fish on the beach. And what happens to a fish flopping on the beach if it does not make it to water?

We need to be focusing more on the money making activities. Sometimes I find myself doing all the uneeded background stuff too much rather than the things that actually make a difference like doing real outreach
