Artist potentially retiring
One of the artists I work with have had some life events that may force them to retire for the foreseeable future leaving their partner to pursue it alone if they choose to do so. Whats a shame about this is that we were working on a big come back from radio silence for the past 2 years. The project (short film/ music video and social media campaign) is essentially complete and is some of our best work yet. I wanted your opinion on whether or not promoting this release as a "good bye" or retirement would be of benefit or a hinderance. With so much up in the air it would be a shame to pull a Logic and "retire" for a year just to come back and make it all seem like it was just for promo and loosing trust of your fans. My other concern is that if people see this will likely be their last release they may not want to get attached to them as an artist and not engage with the content. The other option would be to use this to kick of the solo career of the other member but they do not have any real following right now and so this project would likely not get the same engagement as it would if it was posted on the page they have built together. Just wanted your perspective on this as artists and I keep going back and forth on this.
