Help!! We are hemorrhaging the basketball!!
Coaches, I am very short handed due to some injuries and sickness. For the last 5 or 6 games I have only dressed 8 kids. In those games we have averaged about 34 turnovers a game. The worst game being 41!! The crazy thing is we won that game! I have really tried to be intentional about SSGs to improve decision making and passing but when games come we have really tried to force things rather than "hunt great shots" which is one of our game goals. Last night, turned into a lay-up line for the other team. I know the girls want to win and they play their guts out. I feel like if we can cut turnovers down we could be in ALOT more games. I will take any advice.

@Brian Lindshield I would say most of the turnovers come from trying to force things that aren't there or seeing things too late. Also we have terrible spacing! So some is we are too close to each other or too far apart. We play Canada alot! It still hasn't translated over to games.
How do you hide a player without really hiding them.
I have a very raw freshmen that is really athletic. She is naturally a very good defender, however she is very limited offensively. With her in the game we are better defensively and the four starters around her are pretty solid. If I limit her .5 decisions I think she could hold her own for good chunks of time. I am open to any suggestions
Does two-sided break change for 4 out?
Curious to know if two-sided break changes if I am running 4 out D&S? If so, what changes?
First game..left with questions..need suggestions
Last night was our first game and it was one we should have won. We started slow but really start to get our legs underneath us about mid way through the 1st quarter. The 2nd quarter, for the short time we have been exposed to D&S, was an absolute master class on Fingers & Follow. We basically had a layup line going. The second half was the complete opposite. Our spacing was wrong, we didn't hunt great shots, and ball security was a mess. As the game got tighter, the more it felt like quicksand. The harder we tried the more mistakes we made. They didn't really make any super adjustments other than to collapse everyone in the lane when we drove. I called TO and explained our spacing issues and we immediately scored, however we fell right back into that same thing shortly there after. I feel like we were in a rush to score and not taking care of the ball. Any advice about 4th quarter execution issues?
First Scrimmage....Not so Bad
We had our first scrimmage Tuesday and I was pleasantly surprised with our two-sided break. While we were off the rails pretty consistently, we were scoring in transition with relative ease. As for our D&S, we had some good moments, got some 9s off of Fingers and Follow. We got a couple of 7s off some kick-outs. With only 11 practices under our belt I was very pleased.
