This is how to INSTANTLY kill your status with your outreach. There are only two types of people in outreach: Genuine fans and people trying to sell to them. Business owners know which one you are within a 2 seconds. Stop being fake in your outreach. That's why bait and switch SUCKS because it wastes people's time and you lower your status because you come across as fake and scammy. Imagine someone pretended to be your friend, but they never actually wanted to be your friend - they just wanted to use you for their own benefit. This is the same thing I know this, because I've done it, my students have done it before, and you've probably been doing it. Trying not to look salesy makes you look even MORE salesy. They can see it and they can smell it. But the worse part is not just that... EVERYONE. IS. DOING. THIS. METHOD... SO YOUR GOING TO LOOK THE SAME AS EVERYONE ELSE?! And when you look the saammee as everyone else... Your status is INSTANTLY killed because your painted with the same brush as the other person who did the same as you. ''Wow this method works so well'' I paid $1,500 to a course that taught me this and another $2,500. From my own experience with all the clients I've landed, three words: Just... be... honest! They respect honesty way more than some weird roundabout approach where you pretend you're not selling. They know what you're doing EVEN IF YOU DON'T TELL THEM YOUR SELLING. Might as well be real about it. That's why I switched my outreach method. I hate being fake, I hate being scammy, I hate wasting peoples time, and I hate it when my outreach doesn't work. You slide into their DMs pretending to be a fan, asking innocent questions, building 'fake' rapport... When really you just want to sell them something. And when you finally pitch them? They feel exactly like that person who got used by a fake friend. Manipulated. Annoyed. And definitely not buying from you. It gives off the impression that you are only using them for your benefit and your not actually here to help them. And look, I know it's not your fault because that's what these gurus have been teaching us to do, I don't blame you one bit... That's why I stopped doing it. That's why I hate it. I don't want to make people feel like they've been tricked. Business owners would rather you just be direct, personalised, and honest. Authenticity beats manipulation every.single. time. The people making real money in freelancing stopped playing games years ago. They just tell the truth.

So what does work then? Is it still possible to land clients as a freelancer? What platforms work nowadays? I'm sure we can all relate to this, right... Outreaching can feel like just one big maze that everyone else somehow got the map to but you... And with all the noise nowadays it starts to blend into one big, confusing blur of... “this doesn’t work” or “clients aren’t replying” and “maybe this was a bad idea” or worse ''should I just give up' And I get that! I really do because I have experienced this exact thing myself. Because when you’re surrounded by ''gurus'' showing off these perfect outreach scripts and £10k wins in their first week, it’s incredibly easy to fall into that trap. From my personal experience landing multiple clients as a freelancer, and helping other in this group do the same, the only thing that’s actually “broken” is not outreach. It's not instagram, It's not facebook, It's not skool, It's not linked in... It's the expectation these influencers have put in your mind. That your first 1, 10, 20, 50, 100 cold DMs should land you a dream client... That if you haven’t made £1k by week two, or within the first month of starting, you’re doing it wrong. That if it doesn’t work fast, it doesn’t work at all. That if your from a certain country, it doesn't work for you. What if the real issue wasn’t that “nothing works”… Here’s what no one seems to talk about that genuinely changed everything for me: What starts as “just trying to figure out how to get clients”… Turns into waiting. And that waiting for the perfect message, the perfect platform, the perfect time... it slowly becomes this 'thing' that never actually happens. (I waited like that for longer than I’d like to admit.) So when I made that TINY DECISION to stop waiting to feel “ready'' and just start was when I started landing clients at $700MRR, $1.5KMRR, $2KMRR… And eventually cracked my first $5K+MRR project.
